If you are, then no, its not a remake at all. Gundam SEED can be considered sort of (but not really) a remake of the original, but thats it. There are some similarities, but they are mostly homages/easter egg type things. The 0 Gundam in Gundam 00 is essentially the RX-78-2 with a GN Drive, there is another mech that looks exactly like a Gun Cannon later on, the Tierens were based on Zakus, Grahm is a Char, and Ribbon's voice actor is the same as Amuro's, but that's about it for the obvious similarities. edit: Also, stylistically, Season 2 [badly] tried to copy plot elements and stuff from Zeta Gundam.

(: I haven't watched that much pre - 2006ish stuff, but this is the stuff that I remember as really worth watching - Haibane Renmei Cowboy Bebop Serial Experiments Lain Escaflowne Gunslinger Girl Elfen Lied Welcome to the NHK Saikano Kino's Journey Mushishi GiTS Satoshi Kon stuff Hayao Miyazaki stuff A lot of this is really well known though, so you might have seen most of this. Edit: I like how I've seen about half of the pre - 2006 stuff people posted and deliberately left it off my list :p

Suggest you watch the anime seeing as the manga and light novel versions are no where to be found. You're just not looking hard enough. D: Translations for all of the LNs exist with the exception of the short stories. Some of the translations are really, really rough, but the fact remains that they are out there. AFAIK, the FMP: Sigma is still slowly being scanlated, but I don't really know since I don't keep up with the manga.

Does anyone have any recommendations in this genre here on TL? Preferably some manga with an easy to follow main story, with a lot of funny moments xP. Generally with a light mood too. Reasonably developed too, if possible. I hate to read a good manga and come to an unexpected stop due to catching up too early :< I love the juxtaposition in To Love-Ru and Nagasarete Airantou. Rito (TL-R) is always blamed for all the ecchi moments( which he never causes) while Ikuto (NA) is never blamed for them (and rightfully so!). Just a funny anecdote :p On November 20 2010 02:23 Ferrose wrote: Do you play visual novels? No. Should I? What do they have to do with anything? : o

In general, unless you are just looking for random love comedies, the VN area isn't quite as good as the shounen mangas (particularly if you want eechi). VN truly shines with larger and more complicated titles where you can truly utilize the fact that you have a ton of text to work with. So yeah, I wouldn't suggest VN for that kind of stuff at all. Which is why if you ask me and Southlight for VN recommendations, you'll see like one love comedy out of like twenty. Part of it is taste, but most of it is how the exceptional works on that platform takes advantage of what the medium has to offer, and what text has to offer usually doesn't work too great with such genres. Before I forget though, honorable mention to Tsukihime for pre-CG text based ero ![]()

Unless you are willing to put up with atlas+agth, what you can read is semi-limited. Higurashi apparently has 'official' purchase-able game out online somewhere in English, chaos;head should be fully translated (Southlight would bitch about it but he hates protagonists of that kind), and toss in Saya no Uta for good measure I guess. Most of the recent stuff hasn't been finished yet afaik. Oh, also Sekien no inganock has been fully translated, nfc about quality, but I really liked the series (shame only inganock has been translated afaik). In general I don't keep up with the translated stuff in particular, so can't be of much help. If SLG elements are interesting to you, utawarerumono is a must-play imo, and some here would probably suggest sengoku rance. Sengoku rance is the shit in terms of actually having gameplay with nude pictures. On the other hand its not really like the mangas you asked for to begin with. If you haven't use mangafox's advanced search http://www.mangafox.com/directory/?advopts I've found it quite helpful in locating manga by genre. There's dozens of ecchi harem mangas out there so I'm sure you can find something you like.
