Huh, Akane specifically said that she would help Kamui (to get to Sybil and find out "what color" it is) if he released the hostages. She IS acting in a threatening way to Sybil, and plus, she's one of the only individuals who knows the truth, I don't see what's so unlikely about Sybil wanting to limit Akane's movements...
And by "rights", I understood "being an Inspector", not specifically firing a Dominator, which is the least of Akane's powers and responsabilities. It essentially means being fired.

I seem to remember that Sybil could actually purposely change the firing triggers for Dominators. I think it switched Akane's gun to Lethal Eliminator mode although she was pointing at someone with a crime coefficient valid for only Paralyser (that was in Season 1). I found it somewhat weird indeed you don't have any means to disable rogue dominators :D
I guess in this case, if Sybil was forced to disable its own dominators (which are instruments that only measure and are always "right" to fire if the PP is high enough: what I mean is that it's never a mistake if someone is killed by a dominator, it's just Sybil passing its judgment, no matter who actually held the gun, the carrier is not responsible), it would be denying itself. Whereas in the first season, I think it was part of the ploy to win Makishima over.

Wouldn't be a problem if the guns were disabled in the first place after being compromised. For a system that has multiple minds at work, surely one could have come up with such a solution instead of being forced into a worse one later on. You even pointed it out yourself that the dominator can be modified on the fly by the system yet they wouldn't work out an exception for this case. Here's a hint, dominators = disabled, leads to rebel group not being able to try to overload the system to find a backway in.

The system passing judgement through the gun is fine but here's the other thing... Random user picks up the gun that they weren't allowed access to in the first place and using said object to judge others. Remember that the guns needed authorization to use, this means others aren't allowed to help pass judgement on their targets yet in this case it was allowed through surgery/implants. Would you say it's problematic if said gun were shut down for whatever reason because it did not belong in its original user's possession?

enjoyed the latest episode. Looks like Arima finally found who he will be playing with and also seems like he's gotten over the trauma so I expect him to become a better piano player in the upcoming competition. Best part was that he wasn't just following the music sheets towards the end it seems and got his feelings across.

Takeshi was pretty devastated to see him though but again, you would think he would figure out that Arima is playing like that due to some unknown reasons so he shouldn't hold it against him. Emi seems happy enough though lol.

ya, exactly what I thought as well. It's probably why they had that after credits bit of him not following the music notes, probably since he deviated at the end and showed his emotions using it etc...
