Is this meant to be taken literally or is it just figurative because by default you would assume that they are both incredibly powerful so it is likely one would die? I'm just a bit confused because the characters seem to spar and do a lot of things which could be borderline "fight"ing. Also really enjoyed the ending to ZnT, that was wrapped up well. Mahouka was pretty funny, I didn't realise that Tatsuya "weakness" was actually because he's simply a god. | ||

There have been a couple of exceptions bigger than sparring already (well, I remember at least one off the top of my head). Tribe Cool Crew episode one was fine in a childish, silly kind of way. Looking forward to more, I kind of doubt there will be drama so I'm looking forward to relax, watch and wish I could dance. | ||

I think they mean that when they fight, they go all out, obviously to kill each other lol so the battle likely won't end until one of them is dead. How many times have we seen a battle between two users with both escaping? Not many I would say (I can only think of one tbh). | ||

If we count only real fights, either the mangaka was speaking figuratively, or he just forgot about that point. | ||

I did also read all the random shit that bridged the series and that lol hmmm after the time skip would be vol 10 and they completed it a while back. there are about 5 chapters for each novel and a random amount of parts to each chapter, not really sure which part you're talking about they finished the last chapter of vol 11 last week or something and I finally got done catching up on it, it was such a great time killer reading it on a phone apparently there's a pretty dedicated Chinese community subbing it, and one dude that directly translates it from Jap to Eng for bakatsuki. that guys doing gods work | ||

I didn't like how they showed some of the characters like Saito and the Major. The first was always shown to be sleeping and the other didn't feel like a super wizard hacker. Also her looks, I prefer the other style. First episode was decent, second and third were okay, fourth one had way too much information that made it somewhat difficult to follow. Some similarities to the movie but other than that, not that amazing. Only parts I found funny was Batou being made to punch himself. tldr Arise wasn't great. | ||

I think everyone pretty much agrees Arise isn't that good for a GitS movie. It's a decent OVA if you ignore all prior GitS but that's about it. | ||

I'd put off the last two episodes for a bit based on reactions but it really wasn't that bad. It probably didn't stir as many hearts as they wanted, and while a lot of that can probably be blamed on the sort of rushed plot and some of the crazier stuff I think it would've gone a long way to just have a slightly more likeable cast. Shibazaki and to an extent Nine were the only people I was ever really happy to see on screen. Lisa was annoying though I guess the epilogue helps, Twelve never sat well with me because he's so super duper megasa special, and Five was the bad sort of crazy. I still liked it, though, in no small part because of its excellent soundtrack. They had a great one to work with and they used it well, can't wait to get my hands on it. General atmosphere and mood were good too. Now to finish Judge End... + Show Spoiler [Sengoku Basara] + I think I'm probably one of the few people here who started this, let alone watched it to the end, but maybe not. Basara is a franchise I came to like over time - for the first two seasons, it was Production IG with a Sawano soundtrack, and it was hotblooded crazy fun. Oh, and both seasons had TM Revolution OPs which were great. I thought it was dumb and too over the top, but it eventually won me over. Judge End didn't have any of that. It covered Sekigahara much like the Last Party movie but it was kinda... like, I get that the games are reasonably popular and you wanna include as many stories as you can because there are people in the fandom who wanna see them, but damn. Animation was usually kinda meh, the character designs were largely the same but everyone was a bit uglier, music wasn't even a quarter as lively. The last episode was the most fun I've had with it because stuff was actually happening (though in fairness season 2 had that problem as well, but it was an explosive end rather than simply being entertaining) and I don't even know why I'm complaining, I wasn't expecting much. If they'll do a followup with Date leading the Eastern forces and Yukimura leading the Western forces I guess that could be fun. I can't stand Dynasty Warrior type games but I have followed the plot of the games along and I guess the new series's problem was being a little too similar to them? I feel the Production IG series took more liberties and was a better show for it, though fans of the games have insisted the new one is better to me. Different expectations, I guess. | ||
