Not really. The show straight up sucked til the last arc. Which was apparently aired out of order of the novels, or something like that. Last arc sucked less, but wasn't anything great. Just had this one surprising scene that started it all. Rest of the arcs were boring.
Hi guys checking in to say that I finally watched Hanamonogatari yesterday and man let us reaffirm that monkey = top tier (even crab missed her presence). Lots of talking (this was not a problem), and production seemed lower than what I remember the monogatari series to be capable of (this was slightly disappointing) but it still felt like catching up with an old friend or re-reading a favorite book. Could've used more bee and phoenix but I guess they already had their time in the spotlight. Actually what am I saying you can never have too much of the monkey/phoenix/bee combo. Thankful for complete lack of cat. More crab would have been acceptable but her absence did detract from the experience (sup Milch). Praise the lord for Kaiki. Needed more Kaiki. Also needed more less serious-mode monkey but she will be the eternal #1 idiot in the series the way only a fictional character can be so all is well.

Just watched Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita... can't say I'd recommend it, can't say it was great, nor can I say it was hilarious. But despite these things I enjoyed the shit out of it. What an odd show.

I'd recommend the shit out of it. It was fucking glorious . No idea why but I loved that show so much. Shouldn't have watched it all in one afternoon though.
I was out of stuff to watch and tried to watch like 5 different shows, I finished 3 of them but Jinrui was the only one I watched non-stop to completion over the last couple days and was the easiest to marathon despite all the other shows being higher ranked than it. I'm in the same boat I'm not exactly sure why I enjoyed it so much but I loved it. + Show Spoiler +

Because the source is for the most part legit and the production didn't ruin the said legit source.
And yes, it is hard to expect that coming from anime.
I think people are just hungry for some good, old fashion scifi short stories with a more otaku-pandering setting.
