If you like F/SN, try Tsukihime. Higurashi's available in English from... a publisher whose name I don't recall, but they apparently did fine with it. I will recommend Umineko until the end of my days + Show Spoiler +

without those god awful, bland PS3 sprites.

These are good recommendations, and I'd also throw out Ever17 and the Muv-Luv triology.

I actually started dling Tsukihime and did some reading up about it. The MC seems pretty similar to that of Kara no Kyoukai. I know they are kind of in the same universe but is there any stronger/direct link between the two?

They are both named Shiki, and both have the same Eyes (more or less), but beyond that there isn't any actual connection between them. I suppose the best connection between the Shikis is that Ryougi Shiki works for Aozaki Touko, and Tohno Shiki gets his magical glasses from Aozaki Aoko, Touko's sister.

In BMW they meet and bro it up, and become one of the most powerful fighting units you get in the game.

Air / Kanon / Clannad / Little Buster / Rewrite are obviously very popular VN to play, and Planetarium

As for VN with more actualy game element,
MuvLuv
Utawarerumono and Tears to Tiara
Then there are games from Eushully
Or you can go Caller and play Rance

Not sure if any of those are available in Eng though.

Nasu did jokingly have a power tier list at some point for the purposes of the fake t-m RPG.

Though I think it is commonly accepted that Ryougi is the better Shiki.

Also the connection between Rakkyo and early Tsukihime is really awkward. Probably won't hurt to actually make sure by Tsukihime remake that Seo Akira isn't a character existing in resonance in limbo.

Kamidori is in English for Eushully. Maybe the princess dungeon one is too idk. Beyond that I don't think any of them got English. That said, no point recommending if people can't do Ikusamegami+genrin.

The strategy game is part of a fan disk that isn't even translated and is poorly seeded, meanwhile MuvLuv Alternative is still the highest ranked VN on VNDB, has like 2 different PC releases, and 3 different Console releases. There is no way more people play that game than the actual VN.
