I mean, having a mean score of 8.7 to finished animes makes the list pretty worthless to consult, but still.

We just knew who will end up with who and bam, stopped so I would prefer that Glasslip goes further than that. Have the characters get together, maybe date for a bit and overcome some problems then end with them getting married years down the road or before that. Basically, not just stop at them getting together. I think this will be an enjoyable anime regardless of its similarity to other elements in the same genre or from the same production company. Aldnoah: + Show Spoiler + I dunno, that guy seemed pretty plain. I mean, he just stays cold and says" we may want to move from here, missiles are coming, what? you should be grabbing their hands and just getting the hell out of there lol. ya, the Mars dudes have the typical stereotypes but meh, makes them getting beating more entertaining especially when they start getting outraged when it happens lol. Well, to be fair, they have to obey the princess' orders so they haven't mobilized yet. Yes, we'll likely see some OP mech but I can't complain about that. It's why I'm watching this! XD I'm not sure we'll see the evil and fragile and peaceful and love in their heart stuff or at least hope they don't do that. HAHA. Well, the spaceship is perfect for entry if you think about it so maybe that's why they look like that. We haven't seen much of the mechas, just a couple so I would hold off on judging them. ya, I dunno where the common citizens are either but I doubt we'll hear much from them. They probably just used the mystic technology to help generate resources or harvest them etc... but guessing here. You're right that we should get more background but let's at least see if we get more information in the next couple of episodes first. There could be an info dump in the next episode for all we know. Thing is, I don't think they were trying to convey accurate physics or anything like that. As you said, they just wanted to make a story that felt epic. Having the Veo empire take control of the mystic technology and feel they are elevated above humans as a result therefore they should be the ones that rein supreme is a simple story to understand while giving the idea of it being very grandiose. I understand what you're saying though. Good points overall. I say, just sit back, wait for more info and enjoy the ride. All I can hope for is for the OP mech to be really badass and the fights to be well animated and entertaining to watch. Haven't watched the rest but I plan on doing so so I'll give my take on them if you like ![]() That's awesome, thank you ! You have really good points too. I always try to write with keeping spoilers in mind, but as it clearly seen, Aldnoah got me reeeally hard) I don't come towards most shows with any kind of expectations whatsoever, so usually I manage to keep calm composure about silly things on a monitor [even Shingeki Kyojin was more passable for me, physics and logical world building wasn't considered there either, for example], therefore I don't even remember whether there were a single series that got me that riled up after the first episode. Last time I recall experiencing similar kind of reaction was Madoka Magica airing, halfway course passed, wait a minute, both shows have the same writer on board....@@ Gen, you dirty bastard!! Glasslip:+ Show Spoiler + I get an impression that tracking guy is already in relationship with tsundere-girl. At least they are shown living under one roof with rooms next to each other for some undisclosed reason, and she clearly has feelings for him. I don't have an urge for weddings hehe, I just want Fukami to succeed and to have some kind ensurance that nodoby dies/becomes heartbroken in a process, because it's common things for Japanese romance stories haha. Aldnoah:+ Show Spoiler + With anime being overriden with pro-active and agressively-defensive kind of protagonists, it's nice to see a calm and composed one who isn't jumping at the gun at any given moment for once. I liked that scene especially because I would do the exact same thing. If the rocket is coming in your sight right from nowhere, the chance of outrunning it is pretty low, and if you watch it flying in the sky for more than 30 seconds in the sky, it's kinda safe to presume it's not directly aimed at you, or you are already dead and dreaming. So you better don't bother moving your body an inch and enjoy the view of the upcoming explosion either way. Yeah, I don't mind mech being OP either, the problem is that there are 39 battle stations on Earth's orbit which can be ordered to land at 39 different geographical locations, how do you beat that ?) Maybe they all have some control center hub at Mars, but the writer basically tells us: "hey guys while MC is busy saving Japan all other countries are suffering heavy casualties all over the world", keep that in mind. I guess Martians are afraid the Terrans are going to take that powerful artifact away from them, that's why they need regular military at their disposal, but 39 CASTLES on a Earth's orbit that some scary paranoid shit, if you ask me. Maybe there would be a 2nd season, but so far we have 12-13 episodes, with two of them wasted for hero's introduction already and I don't understand the point at all. Let's say the assault on princess was calculated provocation planned by Martians themselves. How plausible that people with godlike power in thier hands suddenly started to care about public image in eyes of those unworthy creatures they abuse and despise? Let's say it's extremists from Earth, which means that Vers Empire has no reliable sources of information about plans of their opponents on the planet they tighlly hold in a space grip, no Terrans supporting their agenda either. Any root you take, the end result is that Mars is run by imbeciles, too. Who constructed and continue to manage doomday's power level of army and, arguably, even blew up the Moon by a wish, ugh. It may sound like nitpicking, and by no means is a final judgement, but if you are creating the show that screams GUNDAM, you bet your ass everyone is going to compare your show to GUNDAM and other prominent mecha series, which, by the way, take the easier road and don't drop the hammer by presenting controversal events and facts right from the start. You wanted my attention? You got it, now let's see whether you are able to climb up from the deep logical pit you put yourself into or it's spur-of-the-moment, inconsiderate trick to give your story a shocking epic look.

Even if you can't outrun it or whatever, taking cover would still be the logical/instinctive course of action, assuming you're not frozen in shock. You know what I think of when I see a stoic character staring down a missile? Mahouka. Martians afraid of Terrans? The show made it extremely clear that they didn't give a shit about Terrans lol. The only threat to the Martians are other Martians. As for the whole assassination thing, it's used as an excuse to invade. And yes, they do need an excuse. Every nation in the existence of mankind has attempted to look justified when declaring war. The US needed an excuse for Iraq. Russia needed an excuse for Crimea. And so on. Also, the show is 2 cour.

Nice to see you participating in discussion too! >Yaoran is reporting Aldnoah.Zero to run two split cours and 24 eps ~Enzo @randomc.net Yeah, that's safe bet, but not confirmed yet. + Show Spoiler [Aldnoah] + Yeah, mahouka protag works as a nice role model for me, too. >Every nation in the existence of mankind has attempted to look justified when declaring war. So, your version is that all 39 battle-stations are participating in a some kind of human hunt for glory, and are not taking this shit as a war, or a revenge for fallen pricess of any sort which makes them undoubtedly chaotic evil tier. Interesting idea, wicked twist on Gundam's tropes indeed. Bandai would never do such a thing, they cater to Zeon fans [proud Neo-Zeon member speaking with you right here, huehue] more than to anyone and that's understandable - they have a huge ton of models to sell, and you aren't buying the plastic robot kit piloted by the guy you slightly don't like, it's basic rule.

I've never gone back and re-rated things..I've thought about it, but decided that those were my feelings about the show when I finished it, and if i really wanted to re-rate it I should at least go watch the thing again first...which lead to me deciding to leave the ratings as is. Baka was the first show i've ever really had to force myself to finish. I just couldn't get into the premise, the story, and really hated the characters. To be honest I should have just dropped it, but a close friend of mine gave it a huge recommendation so I kept thinking, "if i just push through to the end maybe i'll have some type of realization that it's really actually good" but that just never happened for me. Mostly though, for like 7's and 8's are shows that i had fun with, enjoyed watching. 9's are usually stuff that were really awesome to me, I couldn't wait to watch more of, and usually ended up watching the whole series a 2nd time. The 10's are shows that i've seen like 5 or more times, that were completely amazing to me, I just really loved at least like 2-3 aspects (animation, characters, story, overall world/premise, etc.) usually more than that and when I was finished with the series I'd get that depressed empty feeling of not knowing what to do with myself now that i've seen them all (which leads to many multiple viewings, and still leads to that emptiness when it's over). I feel like if anythings less than a 5 it's gonna be one that i'll drop and not gonna be on my complete list anyways. and ultimately the whole reason i started using MAL was to keep track of things i've watched, and get rec's based on those that i really liked. (which has helped a little but not as much as i was hoping). Basically it was never meant for anybody else to look at and get ideas of what's good or not...it's really just a personal list, meant for myself. I don't really think ppl should consult my list for anything. I will admit I'm a lot like BigFan in that, it's extremely hard for me to give something i've completed a thumbs down. I just really really love anime.

+ Show Spoiler [Aldnoah Zero] + Well I am in. I loved the first episode - I mean, for me even a possibility that this show would fail is something unimaginable. The director is the guy behind 2 of my most favourite anime in recent years (Ga-Rei Zero, Fate/Zero). Notice the 'Zero' in those names? Yeah, it's a trend... And Urobutchi doing the script, I am just too hyped for this show. Anyway, seems fine so far - I hope the princess has really died cause she was annoying, but I don't suppose I would be that lucky. The ending of the episode got me hooked and I do like MC so far - the reaction to that missile was nice. + Show Spoiler [SAO S2] + I will keep watching SAO for the same reason I watched S1 - awesome fights, good music and of course making fun of how ridiculous/stupid it's gonna get. And I am not gonna lie, I actually do enjoy Kirito being god-tier all the time. On similar topic - I started watching Log Horizon, which is better in every way imaginable, besides sound and graphics :> Anyway, first episode didn't completely suck, which can be only explained by Kirito not being in the game yet. + Show Spoiler [Tokyo Ghoul] + Surprisingly good so far. Nice gore, MC could be a little bit less annoying. Animation is very good. But I am still not convinced I will actually watch it all, will need to see where the story goes in few episodes. I guess this could be my horror show of the season, although I still wait for something as good as Shiki was. And this will not be it, I am almost certain. + Show Spoiler [Glasslip] + meh, dropped. Maybe I will watch it later though, depends on whether the romance will actually be good. It's just that I don't have enough patience to watch this type of show on the off-chance that few episodes in it will actually get good. + Show Spoiler [Sailor Moon] + My first encounter with the series, will definitely watch even if it was just because it is such a classic. First episode was pretty good though, looking forward to the next one.

Also watched Rail Wars. For some reason I was thinking it was one of the mecha shows this season, IDK why. But it wasn't, and that was apparently pretty quickly. But I kept watching for tits. The things I do for tits.
