I'm pretty sure ZNF is just a masochist, though. Sort of like the season list has. It's difficult enough to get people happy about what's even on the list. Now you want people to agree on what's important enough to be mentioned in synopses and how much information should even be listed? GLHF :3

I'd say you also but I don't even know if I should take your scores seriously. @__@ As blahz will tell you himself, he just has strong feelings on most shows. Particularly Kampfer and Fault I guess :S I think the idea that everyone here hates everything comes from the fact that nobody all likes the same thing, so there's always someone to shit on any given show, and we all know each other well enough to know how arguing amongst ourselves is gonna end up. And the rest just don't care to argue. My average is pretty low too, (at least I think it is) but I guess I rate things differently than most

unless it was one of those series that started out fantastic and then the author took a massive shit all over it, but those are few and far between

People with higher average scores are probably more likely to be ones who only add shows decent and up because they don't watch/finish/rate anything they think is terrible. Plus the vastly different ways people score. What I think a score of 8 means entirely something different then someone else.

If I like something a couple of episodes in, most likely I'll continue enjoying it. I do include all animes I've watched on my list though though I heavily rate based on enjoyment and in some cases, guts of the author to pull off what they did ![]() On July 01 2014 10:14 Toadesstern wrote: that attitude is exactly why esports is still where it is ! are you talking about world of tanks? ![]()

That's true...and to be honest, I actually haven't dropped a show yet so my earlier statement about only rating things i like is somewhat misleading. But then again, every show I've seen I've liked to some extent or at the very least found something enjoyable about it. How are we supposed to make people acknowledge esports as a sport if we can't even agree that warfare is a sport too. Spoken like a true german.

Pretty sure i have never rated stuff lesser than 5. I am pretty diligent when it comes to rating. For example like SAO i really hate the show but i rate it 7. And even if i don't enjoy the show if the show has good production stuff then i still rate it 6 or 7. 8 for me means i somehow enjoyed then show. 9 for me is that i enjoyed the show. I think i never rated 10 in my life since i am reserving it for the closest to perfect anime. Actually anime that i really really loved i still rated it 9 like fate zero and haruhi. And if the animehas a really really good quality, it doesn't matter if i don't enjoy it as much i'd still rate it 9. Basically my 9 and 10 are rated as 9. Anything that is good is 9. Anything that i enjoy is 9. On July 01 2014 09:50 Zergneedsfood wrote: Some people's tastes change and they reevaluate a show after they've seen it, I guess. I agree. I used to like Ah My Goddess and Elemental Gelade. Now i think both shows are terrible.

Asimov wrote a lot of stuff like that, Ben Bova has a lot too. Anyways, I watched Tales of Vesperia: First Strike movie today, I really enjoyed it. I loooved the game and its storyline and characters so it was cool to see this. It's a prequel with it's own good standalone story if you haven't played the game. I was surprised it was so good being an "adaptation" from a video game, but what I think they did really well was not try to just tell the same story from the game and come up with a different story that worked. The dog Repede was adorable in this, one of my favorite parts was when they're in a tavern and he finds a spoon and sniffs it, and in the next scene he swapped out the stick he was carrying for the spoon. I also loved how they played the opening scene/music video from the game at the end of the movie/during the credits which makes it feel so connected with the games story. + Show Spoiler + I do love this song..just hearing it that once from watching the movie, and now it'll be in my head for like a week Unsure if Steins;Gate fit that description haha. It felt like the typical time-travelling story to me. Say Psycho-Pass for example : Yea you get your usual action scenes, but you still get some scenes explaining their world. Something like that would make me happy (but of course, some of the best sci-fi are in books). On the other hand, Knights of Sidonia is more action-oriented. You get to see very few aspects of their world which is sad because it seems that it holds alot of potential. (the reactor that is used to burn the elderly, deads and useless? The political system, the cloning system?) I'm 4 episodes into the serie. Still good, but definitely lacking on the world. More focused on character development.

Xen, Read the manga for Knights of Sidonia: It explains more. Also I think the reactor that burns corpses doesn't burn all those you mentioned ![]()

They already have enough description as far as genre goes, its not there to completely spoon-feed people.
