Seven is not worth the money you spend on carrots I tell you. Besides, Seven technically belongs to Kohaku now mwhahahaha. But that's only if you consider the con game to be canon, which, considering that Sacchin is alive and that the story was originally written by someone else, is pretty iffy. Speaking of which, how on earth is Seven Ciel's most treasured possession? She sure doesn't seem to treasure it (her?), at least. Pfft anything that is advantageous to Kohaku is canon to me! And I think Ciel just did it in response to Arcueid's whole talk about giving the Millenium Castle away. On August 23 2010 05:32 bearbuddy wrote: Hahahah. Ciel is so awesome. I would still take Shiki's harem over Shiro's harem, despite the girls trying to kill each other.
.hacks are pretty standalone. Read up the premise somewhere if you don't know what's going on. All in all, it feels kinda silly how much role playing people do on MMO's, and I laughed instead of suspending my disbelief. Well, like, Shirou's harem members just suck in comparison. Sakura is like a super gimped Hisui, Rin a gimped Akiha, Saber a gimped generic. The best ones in the supposed harem might well be Ilya (only because she doesn't have a route so she had a ton of traits) and Karen (who isn't quite in love with Shirou). So yeah. Pfft Shirou, who gives a damn about his side of things. Personally, I think that Shiro's harem and Shiki's harem are pretty much on the same level. For me, its Arcueid/Akiha vs Rin/Saber, and I like pretty much all of those equally. Shiki's harem has Ciel, and I hate hate bitch, and Shiro has Sakura, and I hate her too, so it comes out even lol Add the 2 maids and Shiki wins, that's even without my blatant Kohaku fanboyism.
I never said the anime was bad; Ecael and I were simply going back and forth about how the novels were horrifically paced and the characters were dreadfully stereotypical, and the combination of the two leads to pain. Regardless of the quality of the anime (which is pretty good so far) it doesn't change that I feel the novels are terrible, although rumor has it the later ones (ie. last volume of the first series) are much more manageable. I think I mentioned once about how I felt the second part of DenYuuDen (DaiDYD) was way better, so was the end of DYD, so were the short stories that didn't involve Ferris and involves Raina's past. See a trend here guys?
Dango destroys books. I am telling you. Dango destroys books.
Also FMP vol 12, who wants spoilers
Mardukas' badassness somehow increases even more. And here I thought it was impossible to make him more awesome than he was after the Christmas vol.
I wonder if I can approve of Al being used this way, but what the hell, its been getting set up for a while anyway. EDIT - nevermind so awesome.
And so the series that ran for 12 years is over. Long stories anyways. More short stories please.

Add the 2 maids and Shiki wins, that's even without my blatant Kohaku fanboyism. I don't like either of the maids, so thats a minus in my book D:

How can you not like the maids? Well, I guess I can understand not liking Hisui, but Kohaku was one of the best characters in Tsukihime (I won't say she's the absolute best due to my own blatant fanboyism for a certain sister character <.<). Come to think of it, I think I tolerated Hisui just because of how fucking awesome her route was.
So was the ending of FMP good? Waiting for translations is gonna kill me.

Not liking either of the maids? I don't even know how that's possible, if you like Akiha you have to like Kohaku by default, practically speaking. She also has the amazing ability to fit in everything from comedy to the most serious of events...now I want to dig up my Kagetsu Tohya for some rereading.
Hmmmm, the last two vols didn't feel as epic as Burning One Man Force or some others but they were quite good. The author mentioned an afterstory possibly at some point as more short stories compilations since he hasn't been doing them since ummm, after something, forgot, when he decided to focus on the long stories (nevermind how that meant a random side venture into Druaga, we know how that turned out). But yeah, I personally hope he'll start tossing out more short stories since the ending could potentially use more elaboration. In all though I think Tessa got the best parts and Kaname got shafted, even as a Tessa fan it feels bad.
A spoiler of sorts, but I thought that it was lame that one of the deciding factors hinged on an event that, iirc, we only saw in the short stories.

>>Insert Kohaku fanboyism<<
Has anyone seen Boku Otaryman? I thought it was a nice little comedy, and it's easily the most entertaining mini-series I've seen.
|
So FMP is done, then? Completed? Finished? How many volumes of the manga do you think there is to go to catch up?
|
I haven't read Sigma since forever, where were they up to and how long did it take them to do the equivalent to Burning One Man Force? I'd say it'll be slightly longer than that.
FMP long stories is done, author mentions he'd like to do more short stories, but he didn't make any commitments.

I will never forgive Hisui for Hisui's arc. You spent most of that fucking route, incapacitated in a bed, in constant pain, not doing anything. The ending didn't make up for that shit.
Kohaku is a crazy bitch, and I generally don't like crazy bitches. Also, I hate her with a passion in Melty Blood.

Haven't really kept up with anime for quite a while, but I was absolutely devastated by the news that Satoshi Kon passed away yesterday. He was really one of the prime innovators in the field, whose every work I've enjoyed (to varying levels, but overall quite a bit), and one of the few remaining hopes I had for the industry, what with it's recent lack of innovation and proliferation of gutter trash. What makes it worse is that only at only 47 or so, I'm sure he would've had many stories left to tell that now will remain forever untold. I only hope that Madhouse will be able to do his final work justice and complete it in manner fitting with his vision, turning it into a Magnum Opus fitting enough to close out his truncated brilliant career.

I really dislike the ANN community, and their reviews are laughably terrible.

I've been using myanimelist, I find that it's the best site for reviews and recommendations, and it has a very organized database. It doesn't have links to online vids or torrents though
