It's like, if something/someone is adorable then you can call them cute, but on the other hand, if you call someone/something cute it doesn't always mean that they're adorable, it can just be referring to someone who is attractive.
That's how I see it as well.
I'd say it's similar in German with "süß" and "niedlich" @Toad
And what's with the lolicon hate? Why would you care what others fap to (inb4 lolican = pedo = child rapist etc.)?
They look like kids ? i still never get what's so likable about anime characters that look like kids

I never know why girls over here like it when you call them 'cute'.
how do asians from asia define cute. I'm from an asian cultural background but the US has probably changed how i use the word cute. I usually use it in a sense that your physical appearances look good in a modest / innocent way since female asian idols are always categorized into cute or sexy most of the time....
Cute in asia is more or less like (or actually equals to) 'kawaii', the kind of cutesy looking girls; cute in actual english simply means beautiful/good looking (from my experience anyway). 'Adorable' to me is subjective, but over here i mostly certainly only hear from girls use that word on girly cutesy stuffs (or kids, baby, pet).
Funnily enough the translation of 'kawaii' is usually 'adorable' in english so i can see where is massive confusion comes from but i am afraid there is no real distinctive definitions for 'cute' and 'adorable' lol.

Horizon tier is fine, but it depends on the character, like you said. Continuing with Horizon as an example: not huge fan of Tomo sized but Kimi carries them perfectly.
Meanwhile, Nate size is perfect too, though her hair is the impressive part. Show me a more impressive hair.

Come on, lets not do this "by defnition" stuff. Like for example, if you look up the legal definition of pedophile, you will see that it does refer to child molesters. But then the dictionary will simply say what you said. So semantics here is pointless.
I always found it weird when anime try sexualize lolis and just say "its cool the character is an adult" or some other work around to try to make it ok.
