Yeah other than notokawaiiyonoto I don't think there are that many that would do Ritsu that much better, Hanakana has already done quite a good job here for a change.

I mean jeez no ownder why he has no idea of his past, hes been in his mom for so long thanks to her magic. Finishing one arc of boring, which continued from another arc of boring, onto another arc of boring.
I remember when Magi had potential.

Everything has potential at the start, its very rare for a manga to not get worse as it progresses, magi is not even close to the realm of terrible just yet.
off the top of my head, stuff which has remained great throughout. One Piece GTO FMA(some would argue this) Gin no Saiji ToG Bersek
to me, nothing went from has potential to shit like Gantz.

Magi only lasted 1 arc pretty much... even been generous it's done for by the time they get to Sindria.

NOW I'M MAD. I knew that Hanakana was Kawai's voice actress before I started watching, but after actually watching it I'm kind of peeved now. Kawai would be sooo much better if she was acted by like, Ueda Kana. She'd be perfect then ><
Thanks Hanakana for ruining another girl ;;
Okay, well, slight overreaction. Hanakana doesn't ruin Kawai but there are other actresses that could take Kawai to further lengths than Hanakana. =_= it get's better later on but yeah, I don't really dig her in that one either. Funnily enough ZNF, aka the premium HanaKana hater, likes her in that role. Megumu best HanaKana role this season imo, by far, despite the anime being really mediocre. I don't really like HanaKana that much either, but I like her as Kawai t.t

The majority of Ueda Kana's characters do not speak Kansai-ben so that's okay. While her Kansai-ben is really awesome she can pull off the normal accent just fine. Her voice is actually really nice for both short-haired and nerdy/cute characters so Kawai's right up her alley and actually perfect for her. :|
While Noto would fit Kawai's personality, I don't think she'd fit her image as well... but better than Hanakana still. Houko is... a weird candidate for Kawai; I actually have no idea if she could pull her off or not.
Aside from Ueda Kana, I think Kugimiya Rie could pull her off if she isn't using her usual loli voice and using a slightly deeper tone like she did with Nemu from Bleach or Hotaru from Gakuen Alice. Maybe Nakahara Mai because apparently she can do everything amazingly, and Kayanon if she isn't doing her super high-pitched voice.
But in any case, I don't mind Hanakana but she brings down Kawai (and also the student council president in Mahouka). onore Hanakanaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

If Houko can do Tomoyo / Kirika / Isako, she can do Kawai.
The only Ueda Kana role sorta fit is Fumika, and her normal roles still has somewhat of a kansai tone to it, just not as pronounced.
Nakahara Mai and Sawashiro Miyuki can do anything

All you need to look at with Ueda Kana is how she plays Saki, Hayate, and Yumi and you can get an inkling of how she would fit Kawai, an introvert who can speak up when she needs to and who also has a really cute, nerdy side. Then just add in some Momo (GuP) and Miho (Major) and you can see that added sauciness when she's speaking and unimpressed (like in episode one with the whole Mayumi scene). In other words, she can play all sides of Kawai. She can speak hyoujungo flawlessly so there's really no worries there. Not to mention, once again, that Ueda Kana's voice actually suits short-haired characters very well for some odd reason.
As for Miyukichi... I don't think she'd fit Kawai that well. While I agree Miyukichi is quite versatile, I don't think she'd suit Kawai any better than Hanakana.

I like her how she is HanaKana and all

Don't get me wrong, Hanakana doesn't play her terribly at all. It's just, she could be a lot better with a different voice actress.

Recently finished 2nd season of Kuroko's Basketball, fantastic series, waiting patiently for the 3rd one. Currently playing Persona 4 Golden - and watching its anime adaptation alongside - and it's epic. Some of the funniest dialogue I've ever heard, and I love the art and musical styles.

Anyone else keeping up with Dragon Ball Kai? Im actually enjoying this show more than I thought I would. Nothing beats than having a full blast of nostalgia. Dat Trunks and Goten fight, lol.

to me, nothing went from has potential to shit like Gantz. is this just because the authors are pressured to write for a paycheck or what? It's probably lack of foresight/planning. Most mangaka are just trying to stay serialized, so when their stuff actually becomes a hit, there's no plan for continuation past a certain point. And thus shit hits the fan.
|
Plus I guess it can be hard to maintain constant good ideas over a long time but there is pressure to continue anyway. Thats why the ones that can be out for so long like One Piece and still maintain excellence are considered really amazing because its rare.
Like what Spazer said most manga don't last particularly long so people aren't planning on it. For example I remember the author of Fairy Tail saying he basically thought that it was going to end around the tower of heaven arc. You can somewhat tell because of subtle shifts in character relations/interactions as they were steered towards other things once it was known it was going to go on.

I guess not all mangaka can be Ashirogi Mutou.

Also silver spoon is cheating because the chance of it being a success was pretty damn high. Thus more planning.
