Four episodes per arc seems way too short to get much character development in. I feel like Amagami's doomed to mediocrity at best. The first English translation of Bungaku Shoujo comes out on the 27th. I might have to go take a look. The proposed release date for the next book is January next year. D: | ||

Overall it was still pretty good though. | ||

it's not the same translator but heh, it'll do. edit: just watched Ookami-san to long ass title and Amagami SS ep4 Ookami-san: + Show Spoiler + think ima drop this. It's just going nowhere for me and yeah idk, it's not bad but it's not good enough for me to keep up with it. might watch a few eps here and there if there are some positive blog posts about them, but meh. Amagami SS: + Show Spoiler + finally the first arc is over. the climax and falling action of the episode were quite bad (seriously, asking a bland spineless awkward guy to peek at you naked when you tell him not to? ON YOUR FIRST DATE? suuuuuuuuure) and the 10 years later was just...unnecessary aside from the fact you see in a decade they don't change at all. I kinda expected a yandere breakdown but I figured it wasn't School Days so it probably wouldn't happen. I doubt I'm going to keep watching it. at best I might watch the first ep of each arc (except Rihoko's or whatever the fattie's name is) to see what's up, but the protagonist has left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth so far. why are all protagonists in a dating/love sim like that? sooooo bland what the fuck. I guess it's so like, there's no personality to fight when you're imagining you're the hero or some shit, but it's so plain boring to have the heroines drive the action. | ||

I was also interested in how censorship affected the series (I watched the entire thing uncensored) and haha it's so god damn bad how they just zoom in to cut out breasts, just blank censor moans and use "artsy" effects to cover up whole characters. I really laughed at one particular scene in ep23 where it's everyone side by side so obviously they zoomed in so you could only see their faces and a bit of their shoulders but due to Katja's weight you could only see her headband rofl. I don't get why they'd even broadcast a censored version, it has this "straight to dvd" feel if anything. edit: that furu guy version of cagayake is so wrong | ||

I actually found Kanon harder to watch at first, due to the massive amounts of uguus and auus and w/e in the first few episodes (a youtube containing all of that was posted earlier in this thread). Though Kanon is a lot better overall. Anyways, I just started Durarara and Highschool of the Dead. Both are pretty hilarious for their own reasons. edit: The K-on dub is awesome. :p | ||
