Does anyone else keep up with the Gunslinger Girl manga? Chapter 75, or rather this whole current arc, is pretty heartrending >_<

My list: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Lucumo&show=0&order=4 Some scores aren't really up to date. I don't think Kanon would score a 8 when I would watch right now, for the first time. And Tsukuyomi -MOON PHASE- would be definitely lower than 7. Gun X Sword, Utawarerumono and Real Drive are pretty much dropped. Also, don't mind my manga list. It's not up to date. /edit 2: Don't mind my "plan to watch"-list either. I have like 20 more anime I will eventually watch.

Some of my recommendations for ya are: Now and Then, Here and There - Although the characters and whatknot are kids.. its completely not a kids show lol. It has a very mature theme to it. You'll like it. Kemonzume - Its got a real mature feel to it. Couple sex scenes. Basically a drama between a demon hunter and a demon who fall in love together. I enjoyed the story alot. The art/animation might draw some people off but i enjoyed it. The director is Yuasa, Masaaki who directed Kaiba(which is one of my favorite series) which i also recommend you to watch ![]() Mnemosyne - You should try this one as well. 6 episode ova averaging aboug 45 mins per episode. Its got a pretty interesting story and was quite the enjoyable watch for me. I think you'll like this one as well Terra e... - Another one of my favorites. Amazing series and definetly worth watching. Perfect Blue - Cant beleive you havent seen this movie yet ![]() Noein - You might like this. Deals with time travel and Quantum Mechanics. Worth a try, i loved it. Blue Gender - Blue gender imo is really an underrated series. If you stay with it you'll definetly like it. Its has quite the mature theme to it as well. Anyways~ Yuasa Masaaki is a badass and needs more credit

O.o Of the anime Tenryu recommended, the only one I've seen is Perfect Blue, but it's really really good. Then again, you didn't like Paranoia Agent, so you might not like Perfect Blue that much either. Edit -- You like "mature" shows, but your favorite show is Code Geass? Really? :p And the shows I've seen that you give 9s to are Death Note and Elfen Lied, neither of which is mature at all (well, they're mature in the sense that they're R rated, but not any other type of mature). You might like Saikano, despite its atrocious art. Ridiculously tragic show about a girl who is also a weapon. It kinda gives me Elfen Lied vibes.

Go back in time and watch gundam 0079 and the whole saga from the U.C. it's very good. EDIT: Also watch School Days, it's probably one of the most mature Anime I've ever seen.

I think Lucumo's just in denial... his list doesn't really show any bias against moe shows that I can see. Haruhi did make fun of moe in a way by making its characters parodies of moe archetypes... except that they're moe anyway, so it's an odd sort of mockery.

Gundam 00 and Durarara! are possibilities. Spice and Wolf and Ga-Rei Zero...I don't think I watch those. I dropped Utawarerumono and Shikabane Hime: Kuro which pretty much says it all. On July 05 2010 11:51 Tenryu wrote: Lol your pretty much the same as me then. I ran out of shit to watch so i started to pick up on all the moe stuff that i skipped over. But anyways, yeh Gun X Sword really wasnt that great. I never picked up Utawarerumono either so i cant comment on that. Real Drive actually isnt that bad for the whole "mature" thing your looking for. It is a bit slow series however i still liked it. Some of my recommendations for ya are: Now and Then, Here and There - Although the characters and whatknot are kids.. its completely not a kids show lol. It has a very mature theme to it. Anyways~ Yuasa Masaaki is a badass I still have some anime to go, but then it ends and I will probably switch over to manga(almost exclusively since there are just like 1-3 good anime per season). I commented on Real Drive some pages ago...that one girl is really annoying and I was told she wouldn't change in the course of the anime. That's why I dropped it, despite the promising story/scenery. Now and Then, Here and There, Blue Gender and Mnemosyne are on my imaginary plan to watch list. I've already bookmarked them. Kemonzume is part of that too, but the style seems awkward(well, like you said it...it's by the director of Kaiba) . I will watch it eventually, but not too soon. I never really heard of Terra e..., but it seems to be a good anime. It's a shounen but the other categories look fine. Regarding Perfect Blue...to be honest, I'm not so into movies. I watch them but I always prefer a normal series. I said something about Noein earlier, the description and the genre scare me away. Has it mature characters and a good story, or will you see shounen-like things everywhere? (That was also the reason why I dropped FMA. It had a really good basis, but the shounen-stuff didn't make use of it.) Thank you for your work ![]() On July 05 2010 11:52 Southlight wrote: God, Terra e... is another one of those hidden gems that you just forget about when recommending stuff. Juuousei, too. Juuousei looks definitely interesting but 11 episodes isn't really that much. I wonder what kind of story I have to expect. Thanks for your recommendations ![]() Hm, I will probably add all the anime(which I might watch) to my "plan to watch"-list. This way it's way easier to see which anime I'm missing.

Kanon 2006 didn't seem as good as Kanon, so I didn't bother watching it :X Yeah, Paranoia Agent was somehow weird. Not the good weird, more like weird weird. I like mecha and I really like the Lelouch character and the scenery and the atmosphere. Don't know, it just suits me. Also, I didn't even notice the advertisement of pizza which some people criticized. There wasn't really a thing to complain about and I just enjoyed it. Same with Death Note...except that the quality dropped after episode 27. Both anime are alike, so it's understandable that they share the almost same score. Elfen Lied is a really interesting anime. It's not about naked body or violence, those where just stylistic elements which were beautifully used. Saikano is one of the anime I already have bookmarked ![]() On July 05 2010 12:04 ViRo wrote: Go back in time and watch gundam 0079 and the whole saga from the U.C. it's very good. EDIT: Also watch School Days, it's probably one of the most mature Anime I've ever seen. I will probably do that...already looked through all the series and in which way they are connected. And that's the problem: I have to find everyone of the same kind before I can start watching it. I doubt that School Days is a mature anime but who knows, maybe I will watch it...after I watched everything else. On July 05 2010 12:08 Sentenal wrote: Lucky Star doesn't make fun of Moe, wtf... The absence of moe definitely indicates it+the score of the ones I watched underlines it. Haruhi didn't strike me at all. While watching I thought...hm, did I even think of something, I don't know. Anyway, I can't understand the hype of Haruhi.

Spice and Wolf and Ga-Rei Zero...I don't think I watch those. I dropped Utawarerumono and Shikabane Hime: Kuro which pretty much says it all. I don't see how those 2 shows you mentioned are related. If you are thinking along the lines of they're both supernatural, Shikabane Hime was pretty bad(don't judge supernatural shows based on this) and Utawarerumono I haven't seen but reading the description, I don't see how that relates at all to Ga-Rei Zero and Spice and Wolf. Spice and Wolf is mostly a romance anime and basically living life as a merchant in the middle ages. Don't watch it if you're not into romance. Edit: And yes definitely watch School Days. ![]()
