Best Male Character: Mao from Maou-Sama.
Best Female Character: Nadako Snake was pretty well done imo(courtesy of Hanakana), not really one that stands out exceptionally though.

They're decent, none of them go past a certain point in the manga plot afaik and the manga is practically on indefinite hiatus so you can just pretend the series ends there.

I didn't see Hataraku Maou-Sama when it ran, but (after reading your post) i'm now watching it and it certainly doesnt disappoint. Or at least the first few episodes. It has actually made me laugh; that doesn't happen too often.
Uchouten kazoku was without a doubt my favourite this year. I don't really care about op's, so i can't really comment on that :$
