Wait wrong series. I was thinking that the release of Kudo Wafter is an excellent excuse to replay LB. Are you sure you aren't talking about LB!E? btw: Might you be a member of the HF forum? I saw your nickname over there. Yeah.
Actually I think I have the LB! E. from the 10th anniversary box, might just play that one instead and save myself time ctrling through some scenes.
Southlight, that this season's black lagoon?

It was an enjoyable series but I just feel like too much wasted potential and too much unanswered questions.
This is based on a visual novel right? I'll read it as soon as it comes out with translations.
+ Show Spoiler +It is weird that Otonashi showed up wayyyy after Kanade since Otonashi died before Kanade.

just watched Drrr's finale and 5cm per second
ugh don't even want to get started on those =/
dl'ing the girl who leapt through time and gonna watch interstella 5555 then starting baccano and AB (since I saw the Final ep just got translated)
edit: k im done raging so ima review I guess
Drrr: + Show Spoiler [ending spoilers] +the ending was kind of like I expected. Mikado's still a pussy, Masaomi gets over Izaya to leave the city with his ex and life goes on. I can't stress enough that the beginning was much more interesting then the end, it somehow felt extremely predictable and slow paced whereas before you'd see different angles and have distinct progression between episodes. 22-24 coulda been done in one slightly extended episode, if anything.
5 centimeters per second: Idk what to think. At first I felt as disturbed as when my friend sent me a NTR hentai saying "this is a test to see how strong you really are". After some reflection though, I can understand the movie a bit better. The evolution of the relationship came together with the ending (both waiting for the other to make the first move) and what Shinohara says at the end of ep1 (something like "you'll be fine without me"). The end was quite bitter and realistic (long distance relationship never work, especially if neither of them make an effort) and I guess that's what made me rage. I was captivated by the graphics and sounds to the point I expected the story had to have a good ending too. oh well.
interstella 5555: just what you'd expect from 90's japanimation mixed with Daft Punk. quite good.
the girl who leapt through time: I'm sure this probably makes people who know a lot about time travel rage hard but I liked it a lot. The only things I can't figure out:
+ Show Spoiler [lots of spoilers] +1. why does Chiaki want to see the painting that bad? and does he even get to see it? Seeing how Makoto travels back to the faithful day she got the powers to leap and from what I tried to count, her aunt finished restoring the painting after 2-3 days (warps to initial day, dodges his confession and we see her aunt working on the restoration, next day the fire extinguisher incident, she gets mad because Chiaki and Yuri get together because of it, she goes to sleep and the next day finally sees the painting). Also when Chiaki uses his last leap to go back before Makoto's last leap (and prevent the Kousuke incident), they visit the museum and don't see the painting. So in the end it seems like he doesn't see it and Makoto says she'll protect it so he can see it in the future (and, I guess, benefit from still having bikes and baseball?)
2. what era does Chiaki come from? is it one close to the one he warped to (Makoto's), which would make his "I'll be waiting in the future" at the end believable? Because if it's far away in the future, I doubt he'd let Makoto "protect" it (as she has a limited lifespan). However, how believable would time travel be in such a short time?
3. Why didn't Chiaki stay in the past? We don't get to hear any quantum rules on that so idk what held him back

It's not based on a visual novel - this was an original anime. It's just that it would have been better as a VN...
+ Show Spoiler [FMP: Come Make My Day] +<Training Message. Please define the subject of "This"> Al said with an inorganic voice. "This unit's Jumping ability and the established----" <Kidding. Quite a thing is it not?> I'VE MISSED YOU AL.

What was good? What was mediocre? What was like...eh?
And most of all, what do you recommend checking out despite all that?
^_^ Angel Beats: Disappointment of the season. It was okay, but no better than that. I can't help but wonder how this show would have turned out with KyoAni... (It probably would have been about the same, but whatever)
Arakawa Under the Bridge: Pretty good comedy, though I found the characters a little annoying at times. Still, it's a solid show. Watch the episode previews. They are awesome.
Mayoi Neko Overrun: Utter crap. I don't know why I bothered finishing this show. Episodes 1-3 were okay, but after that, it's baaaad. This show's only saving grace is that the OP is stupifyingly catchy.
Kaichou wa Maid Sama: It's only half done, but this show is the definition of a mediocre shoujo. Somehow, I still like the manga a little better than the anime even though it's pretty much exactly the same. Maybe it's the puke green uniforms.
K-ON!!: Similar to the first season, so if you like moe, go for it. How many episodes is this supposed to be, anyway?
Working!!: I almost dropped it after "minicon", but it got better. Surprisingly funny. This is probably my favorite show this season.
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou: This show was pretty entertaining. Watch it for the awesome action scenes, Peterhausen, and the school council president's hat, not for the weird and confusing plot. Plenty of fanservice in this one. Episodes come in censored and uncensored versions.
Senkou no Night Raid: Avoid like the plague if you know Mandarin. I couldn't make it past the first episode with their awful speech. It was even worse than most engrish. Can't tell you anything about the story.
Durarara!!: The first half is better than the second half, but Ecael says that the second part is just setting up for future novels or something. Worth a watch, but I still like Baccano better.

Working!! and Saraiya Goyou are the two must-watch of the season I think, because they're the most consistently high-quality. They may not be for everyone (obviously) but for works of their genre they're very well done.
DRRR you could probably wait a few seasons until you're sure they're coming out with a season 2... I've been waiting on an Index season 2 for a while and obviously no news ~_~ Otherwise DRRR will just leave you with a bad aftertaste, IMO.

Arakawa Under the Bridge is the best of the season.
|
I'm only really watching a few of the anime this season, but Arakawa and DRRR!!! are probably the best. DRRR is actually quite a bit better than most of the anime I've ever seen.
|
Aye, how did they release the last episode of Angel Beats like that? Do they even watch their own shit? Well, there's a few sentimental moments here and there, and I guess the characters are adorable as per Key. However, the finale just sent the show spiraling into mediocrity when it really shouldn't have. But hopefully they'll remake this eventually. I didn't have the highest expectations... but damn.
The show was a lot of fun though; just wasted too much time and didn't have enough to begin with.

Though unless they decide to skip that Kuroko vol, season 2 won't get anywhere either -.-
All the complaints about AB doesn't stop it from being a wild success on the fanart front, looking forward for C78

I personally think 'I was joking' might have been preferred given the speech pattern our favorite AI has, but yes, the awesome AI makes a return. The most hilarious part though is at the end of that battle + Show Spoiler [FMP novels] + when Sousuke tries to give his usual set of commands only to find out that the machine is completely lacking on ECM and ECCM
K-ON!!: Similar to the first season, so if you like moe, go for it. How many episodes is this supposed to be, anyway? Too long -.- I enjoyed season 1 because I can actually laugh at it, season 2 just turned into pure moeblob. Gimme back my comedic elements.

Lol, that may be the best thing to come from the show, besides the music.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou was the best show this season.

reaction while watching AB's ending: oh, wow, awww, ^^, ..., "ok these r too much talk but ok", wait a minute, WTF, :O, Jaw broke, :| aka face palm,... good song, WOW!
+ Show Spoiler +the whole thing sucks except the flash moment after the Brave song, which is incredible!
