I really like this character, she's really fun to watch being all womanly and totally taking advantage of everyone while also being quite dangerous. I'll give Cat's Eye a look. Tell me what's the "vibe" of the other Lupin shows? like is it more comedy than anything?. Look, I have no issue with people collecting or painting gundam models ( I didn't even know you could paint them, thought they only came like "already made" stuff) but it makes sense, no different from like model planes or trains etc. I have no issue with that if you thought I did. I just don't like a show that treats that stuff like pokemon and then stamps the gundam logo on it for popularity's sake. It sort of reminds me of that AWFUL iOS game Squareenix put out (All the bravest) about FF that was just swiping the screen and random shit happened lol. Not saying gundam builder is AWFUL (It's not my type of show so I can't say it's bad or otherwise) but the idea which is what matters here IS awful TO ME. It depends on the content whether video game or anime if I will consume and use my time on it or not, I looked into it and I didn't think this show was for me and yes it does annoy me the Gundam brand is being used for a pokemon like show (this last point is something me and my friends all agree on). Lupin swings between serious-ish and comedy, imo more on the latter. Femme Fatales are fairly uncommon nowadays, idk why they went out of fashion but I just haven't seen much in the ways of those for a while.
Specify what you were saying rather than toss out a general statement on a pedestal like gunpla builder is childish and too mature for my 27yo tastes definitely helps. If you don't want people trolling you, making sure what you are saying isn't obviously inflammatory also helps. Now, I don't really consider the show to be a gundam show. It appeals to gundam watchers in that basically all of the people who'd buy gunpla also watch gundam, but it certainly isn't a part of the core of gundam shows. If we were to look at these more fringe uses of gundam, you'd see that it isn't a recent trend. The culture has long grown to encompass things far beyond that of what UC covered and the themes from it.
Now, no one is saying that you should have to like the show, even if most gundam fans are interested for obvious reasons. But complaining in general terms while showing little understanding of what 'Gundam' has evolved to mean in this day and age certainly generates no good will.

It obviously isn't very pokemon-y but that sounds funnier . It seems to me more like Digimon when the kids started to fusion with the digimons no?, I mean they sit in a cockpit that simulates through a computer their gundam right? That digimon comparison is the only thing I could think of since I never seen a show that does this exactly the same. I get that they build their own with parts and stuff and all that has different stats etc etc so it affects the computer simulation, am I correct? It sounds fine for that type of show I suppose.

Basically. on /m/ we like to joke its Gundam + Beyblade. But the real fun of watching the show is the excellent fight animation and the constant callbacks. Hell. Ral is a major character

To be honest I don't know it has anything to do with my age specifically, but me and my friends who are around my age HAVE seen that we are interested in less and less animes in the last few years. I don't know if we changed or the animes changed or maybe both, but we are increasingly turned off by the stuff that comes out today and we have less and less shows that interest us. My favourite show last season was Silver Spoon, I think very few people watched it and I can see why some might dismiss it for being a show about farming and think it's boring. It was certainly overshadowed by Titan which is fine, so a lot of people probably missed it. I really looked into your show and I made an effort, I always make an effort to look into stuff before dismissing them even if I do look at shows of the same genre AND season unfavorably if I already watched and disliked another show. I usually watch a handful of shows at the start of the season, some were just plain bad for me, others were okay but didn't hold my interest, others were great but I didn't feel I wanted to make them for them and will watch later and the rest well I stick with for the season.
I never collected anime figures of any show and even less bought stuff to paint, was never something that interested me probably too busy spending a fortune on Magic cards back when I was REALLY into Gundam . I can appreciate how they are both separate entities but since I was never into the subculture of gunpla I can't really relate to this show at all, from an outsider looking in, the SHOW (not the subculture) seems kiddy. I think they are trying to make a cool show about it which is fine, I would be more inclined to try it if it was about like people actually collecting/building them etc without the silly fighting and stuff (but that might not be very fun ), that would be a decent introduction to someone like me who doesn't know anything about it but when you add unrealistic elements to it like the fighting, it turns me off.

The only reason I brought up your age was because you used that as a justification of your so called mature tastes, which is basically just asking to get trolled and laughed at. Similarly, your oversimplified reasoning about dropping shows and not bothering with them got people on your ass. Perhaps you have been dealing with shingeki fans for too long, but your reasoning when not dealing with Toradora was brusque with little in the ways of explanations. Perhaps if you had clarified your position more than saying things like not liking a season's potential for mecha based on one episode of valvrave, the reception would've been far more gentle.
About Gin no Saji, if you were to have actually followed the thread, you'd probably see that Silver Spoon was very well received here and that most frequent posters enjoyed it greatly.
If you could've been like that from the start about Gunpla builders instead of dismissing it in a single sentence, I think you could've saved yourself a lot of trouble. From responding to me anyway, since I don't have any issues with that set of reasoning. Sent would probably argue that if you were actually a gundam fan you'd like it even if it was about that simply because of the amount of references, but that's Sent.

I have less time for leisure activities so I'm very picky about what I watch/do, since I'm always feeling like a slacker when I watch/do "unproductive" stuff but if I watch something that I felt was worthwhile then I won't feel SO bad about it. But that's just me and my issues lol.
To be honest I never thought anyone was going to get MAD because I didn't like their shows, at first I WAS trying to be funny but I guess that isn't well transmitted through text and then they got me upset as well... same way I never seriously called ZNF crazy (never would over that) but of course someone assumed I did. I explained my reasoning now so if anyone is still mad I'll point them in this direction.
Well I don't come to TL AT ALL very often, I come here for Dota 2 and BW stuff from time to time. So I don't check the general forums that much, I'm glad to hear people around here liked Gin no Saji but I was talking about the internet in general didn't seem TOO interested in the show not you guys. Seems to have a small following like Space Brothers. I was only "engaged" in the thread because of BigFan and a couple of other people who were actually interesting to talk to about Tora and a couple of other shows.
I like gundam but I don't watch EVERYTHING gundam related, there are some stuff I haven't gotten to watch yet or just don't want to. I really like Macross as well but I hated Macross 7, I could not take that show seriously and I dropped it. Sure it was a pretty big Macross show but that doesn't guarantee I will like it.

That's an interesting assessment of Natsume Yuujinchou. The show doesn't need carrying - it's good in all aspects.
Taki's best anyway.

Taki got like four lines during the fourth season.

Well you said, "As always" so I assumed you meant all seasons.

Nyanko-sensei is like that super extra on top of an already amazing show. And honestly in that season what "carried" the show wasn't actually him but Natsume himself. Was a real pleasant suprise because I think without that the 4th season wouldn't live up to the first 3 at all.

Personally I haven't thought of the show as anyone "carrying" anything (I marathoned it all anyway so I don't think that much in terms of seasons), as I think both Madara and Natsume himself are great. I also really like Natori. I wish we got to see more Reiko though.

I disagree, but I guess I'm just not as fond as Natsume as you and the other Youkai are.

Ral appearing was one of the best moments as of yet in thr anime for me especially because he lost so badly lol.

The little fox in season 3 was so cutey too.
I also really like the tidbits with Reiko. They need to make an adaptation mainly focused on her. :3

You tend to do that.

From responding to me anyway, since I don't have any issues with that set of reasoning. Sent would probably argue that if you were actually a gundam fan you'd like it even if it was about that simply because of the amount of references, but that's Sent. I don't really care if someone doesn't like a show, assuming said show was given a fair chance. I already said what my problem was. Build Fighters has lots of stuff that should appeal to most Gundam fans, but I'm not going to go around telling people they aren't fans of a franchise because they don't like a particular entry.
