So yeah its going to be hilarious when RGZ is a million times better than the unwatchable trash that is Valvrave. But Valvrave's good and appeals to more than a niche otaku demographic. So are you trying to imply that Valvave isn't specifically targeted at otakus? Or that Valvrave has a bigger fanbase (aka is less 'niche') than Mazinger fucking Z? A franchise that's been continuously getting new entries added to it since 1972? A series that had average episode ratings in the high 20s%, and episode getting a rating of 30% (one of the highest ratings an episode of anime has EVER gotten)? And as an aside here, I doubt Valvrave even gets a 3% rating. A series that created the concept of the "giant piloted robot" and a genre that would go on dominating anime for the next 30~ years? Of course not, it airs at 1:35 am, the perfect time when all the little kids will be sitting down in front of the TV to watch anime.

Fujoshi are otaku and Valvrave isn't getting that many fujoshi sales anyway.

It wasn't about Mazinger Z at all, it was specifically about RGZ. Maziner Z was never in my original statement. Aers didn't mention Mazinger either - the subject was RGZ specifically and you pulled Mazinga into it. Calm down.
The original point is that you were up on a high horse about Valvrave being a show that no self-respecting person would watch while you're looking forward to a moemoe~ mecha musume show. I was just poking fun at your tastes.
I'll admit to the otaku/fujoshi thing even though I'm pretty sure most people distinguish between male and female fans anyway, yes, technically speaking fujoshi are otaku.

I'm pretty sure Valvrave is doing fine anyways. The thing with Banrise shows is that as long as they move merch, they're fine
VVV moves merch.

Who else do you think a parody comedy show for a classic franchise is going to be targeting?

Right, it's going to target a niche within the fandom. I don't see a ton of potential in that. Unless you think all Mazinger Z fans are going to watch it.

OK, sure. I still don't see it being very popular at all outside of an extremely tiny niche but maybe I'll be wrong. Feel free to spam quote me when numbers appear or whatever and call me retarded later.

Good anime, I like the quirkiness lol. Reminds me of Love Hina in a way especially with the current relationship and what's going on. Can't wait to watch more although work first. Hopefully there are other animes which are similar but also different in their own way. If you guys know any similar to Toradora and Love Hina(I only ever read the manga for this), feel free to recommend. thanks! So you like those haremish romcoms? Try School Rumble. If you don't mind reverse-harem, watch Ouran Host Club. If you just want amazing romcom, watch Nodame Cantabile and Kimi ni Todoke, and my personal bias, Skip Beat. thanks for the recommendations. Well, I read Love Hina a long time ago but I enjoyed the odd twists and the general approach even though the constant running was ridiculous XD Toradora has no haremish parts so far unless they come later on and I haven't gotten there yet. School Rumble looks good. Ouran Host Club and Nodame Cantabile seem a bit odd lol but might give them a try. Kimi ni Todoke, I read the first chapter of the manga but got busy and forgot about it although I'll give the anime a try when I get the chance, same with Skip Beat. Any other ones? I guess I like romcoms a bit but I'd want the two main characters to be oblivious to each other's feelings or something like in the two I mentioned because it makes for some rather bizzare situations and such XD Ouran is very good. I liked the Pet Girl of Sakura Hall as well, thats one where the main characters are sure as hell oblivious, but I guess its not a true rom com more of a romcom slice of life/growing up? Not sure if it is or not but it sounds interesting. Will give it a good once I get the time Thanks for responding! Speaking of Merchandise, why the hell are those little figurine things for anime so expensive? I came across some today and they seemed really expensive.

But I assume thats their main source of revenue since it counts so much on BD sales to do well if theyre gonna continue a series.

Anyway, in other news and still related to Mazinger, I finished my bandai Shin Mazinger Plamo. Overall, its a pretty decent kit. My main complaint is that it only has 1 set of hands. Fists. Apparently thats all Mazinger needs, but I'd have liked an open hand for some poses. God Scrander's wingspan is huge. Some series are more reliant on blu-rays than others.
