Shaft really milking it, huh? Are the other series worth watching? edit: re-downloading SxS, since so many people defended it -_- Also, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou was great, although it's tapering off near the end. Thanks for recommending that.
Nisemonogatari came after Bake then Neko (though Neko is short ~like 4 eps?) I liked them both and I think people generally found them to be fine but not as good as Bake.

Oh yeah, voted Texhnolyze, since last time ZNF was streaming it, Souma was being like "omg dont talk spoilers about a 10 year old anime or I'll ban you since I haven't watched it yet!!!" So this way, Souma won't threaten to ban people for talking about it while watching it.

The whole S2 thing was a designation for the source, with 'season 1' being everything up to neko kuro, and s2 from neko shiro to koi.

Thanks for voting, everyone!
Looks like my 500th will be Texhnolyze. Good effort, Angel Beats/Madoka fans.

we all know if Shaft really wanted to milk the series, they would have released Kizu by now instead of cutting and pasting Madoka scenes together and calling them movies.
|
Im not really a Angel Beats fan, I just wanted to see your reaction after you finished it.

The third movie (out next week) is completely original material, yo.

There's hope for Emnjay after all?

Every series that's popular enough gets a movie cliffnotes version.

I don't know why you tell me to blame the industry when the point of discussion is what Shaft is milking money from. One person said Monogatari and I countered with Madoka since recap movies are easier milking and with a stab at Kizu 3xxx. The reason for it happening may be the industry, but it doesn't change the fact that the studio is milking money, so what's your point?

Recap movies are usually for 12-24 episode series that have ended, and they want to keep it "relevant" by re-releasing the same content in a different format...helps keep people interested in the merchandise.
Long-running shows (like 3 seasons+) are milked by extending the releases, which keeps all the related products on the shelves for as long as possible. Plus time-spacing so they don't outpace the novels.

Plus time-spacing so they don't outpace the novels. Monogatari had 1 season at the time of Kizu's planned release date, then Madoka happened. The novel is finished so you can't outpace it. It'd be one thing to make people wait for adaptations. It's another thing to announce something with a planned time for release, drop it while releasing a bunch of other stuff that obviously was only recently planned, and give no other information about it for years. Not that I wonder why they did it, considering how easy that money was, but it doesn't change my point that they chose Madoka over Kizu, which for some reason you are taking issue with.

I don't understand how you guys can vote AB over Tatami Galaxy...like wtf is wrong with you people. Oh wait I guess most of you guys haven't watched it so the jokes on you.
Texhnolyze is awesome but I wouldn't recommend it as something you just do for a "mile stone." I'd recommend it as something you sit down and think about for a long time rather than "OH I WANT MY 500th ANIME GAIZ."
Tatami Galaxy is perfect for a milestone anime because it thematically has that kind of quality. It's also got really moe and enjoyable characters, a great relatable story, gives you an emotional rollercoaster better than almost any other anime on your list with a solid mix of drama and comedy, better art than Madoka, a great OST, a great opening song, and is just an overall well written and executed story that manages to be really endearing and memorable despite its repetitive narrative.
How you guys managed to put Tatami Galaxy in 4th place honestly is really saddening. It really should be neck and neck with Texhnolyze and maybe above it considering I don't think Souma would really enjoy watching so much suffering for his 500th anime. I voted for Texhnolyze. I agree with what you say here but Tatami Galaxy had no chance of winning, so I had to vote for Texhnolyze. It's just like voting in the US presidential elections huehuehue
Wow csheep you break my heart like always
