Two things. First, his last portrayal in Zeta and then jumping straight into him dropping Asteroids on Earth with no explanation at all is terrible writing. Then, when Char gives his reasoning for doing what he is doing (aka when hes not giving a propaganda speach and hes really speaking his mind), he starts talking about his grudge against Amuro OVER LALAH. This is the same Char, who in Zeta, told Amuro to get over her! And now hes back in CCA, as if Zeta never happened, angry over Lalah, who engineered the entire war to get revenge against him. He wasn't mad about Kamille getting mindfucked (how was that the Federation's fault, anyway?) or the AEUG getting crippled. He never expected the AEUG to start driving people off the Earth by using Genocide to force people off. He was mad about Lalah. That was his given reason. It is terrible, irredeemable writing.
