I'm not good enough to see differences between 1080p upscales and what not, I just dl 720p just cause it's smaller file size. For some movies I like, I get the 1080p versions of them though.

well you're upscaling it either way if you're watching it on 1080p resolution, aren't you? Chances are it's done better if someone tries to do it somewhat properly.
It can be done horribly as well yeah and yes obviously if you got a true 1080p you go for that one but you made it sound like you don't have that option.
Edit: Honestly though I'd stick with the 720p without upscaling. I don't think it makes that much of a difference, if at all and it's simply smaller in filesize like mentioned above.

Oh. Yeah, when I said "never upsize" it's more of a rule than not having the option.
I dunno. All my experience comes from working with photos. And nothing got me in trouble faster than scaling down a 36x48 inch photo to 5x7, turning it in, and then having an editor yell at me because they needed the photo in 8x10 or something.

I dont know what happened in dynasty reader but I can't find short, sweet and heartwarming manga easily anymore. Different site I could use? (yuri or not)

Yeah, sadly the Doujins took over that reader...though it's still fun reading fanworks that aren't hentai. You can at least go to the Directory and avoid all Doujin listing.
It's also one of the few selective online readers out there...so your options are basically filter that site or go to one of the larger reader sites and try to dig through the trash there.
Also, if you haven't read Aria or Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, I highly recommend those. Well, Aria anime would probably be better, the atmosphere and pacing just bleeds through so much better in animation.
