Really?

Anyone else watching Photo Kano?
It's starting to get a bit more interesting, and less fanservice, although there's still plenty. Definitely going to give it a few more episodes before I decide on how good it is.
Also KyoAni coming to save anime once again: http://www.kyotoanimation.co.jp/countdown/
Time to hype up

All you people talking about Valvrave are completely missing the entire point. Did episode 2 have any cool fights like the first ep, yes/no? This is the only question relevant to how good it was or not. Who cares if the protag isn't edgy enough for your hipster sensibilities. Note I have not seen episode 2 yet, so in the event there was no cool fight, I will join you people in complaining.
lol@the guy who said Gargantia was enough mecha for him. While Gargantia is good, I don't think there is any good reason for that show to be Mecha. The mecha parts of it are honestly a huge drag on the show. They shouldn't put a giant robot in the show if they are going to make said robot so dull and aesthetically uninteresting.

Also did anyone notice a slight inconsistency with the animation this episode compared to the first two? Or am I just being too nitpicky.
Edit: Niimi-san is clearly the best heroine.

Watching Durarara!! I've never been more confused like this only when I watched Baccano.

If actually having balls is "edgy" then sure-I'll go on hipster hating on annoying whiny MCs ("waaaa I'm a monster who doesn't deserve to have feelings"). Not really sure what's so cool about the fights, Valvrave + Show Spoiler +owns every peon with sword/imba energy waves >>>> charge up ultimate attack for big baddie . Might be more interesting when it gets the different forms shown in OP (as presumably the german dudes will upgrade or something to be able to fight the base form) but like you said Gargantia at least has a plot to save it even if the mech isn't that great.

I can see it being somewhat of a rush while they're introducing all the characters and how they're related but it's fairly straightforward towards the second half of the series.

Some parts were less well animated for sure. As far as weird and awkward goes, it's probably still less weird than I thought it would be, since I assumed it was just going to be just a normal harem with no plot, but every so often it hints at plot and then decides "Actually, here's more picture of Seito Kaicho"
Something will happen eventually, which is the reason I'm watching, but I don't know when that eventually is. Might even finish the whole series waiting for something to happen.
Niimi-san ranks highly for sure. Then Seito Kaicho, then Imouto, then everyone else. I don't remember half the names really since I've got so used to calling characters "blue" and the like.
Spoilers for future episodes: + Show Spoiler +It's only going to get more awkward when he takes pictures of his sister

While it's linear, it is multiple loosely related lines, so not all that surprising someone is confused.

There is a lot of room between "being edgy" and being a complete weakling though. The entire "Oh no I'm a monster ;_;" trope is well known and often used in mecha anime like Valvrave, but most of the time it's at least warranted. All the MC did was bite a guy, I mean come on. That's comic relief at this point. As for cool fights, they weren't cool enough to fill in for the lack of "edginess" which my hipster sensibility feeds on.
|
Please, you have people crying that the MC isn't "fucked up" and it isn't "gritty grimdark shit". There is a lot of room between being edgey and being a wuss, but look at what these people are actually complaining about.
Anyway, everything about that is irrelevant, since the only thing that matters with that show is if we get any more fights like we got in episode 1 or not.

And frankly Baccano despite not being linear is just easier to follow regardless because the story is just executed better, period.
That having been said there isnt really anything confusing about Drrr tbh.

Saika line is most confusing one, if you don't grasp the concept early.

Is this really a bad season or I just missed some good shows ? Watching only Suisei no Gargantia, Shingeki no Kyojin and started Oreimo s2 only because i have nothing else to watch.
Wanted to watch Aki no Hana but the score, pics and the negative comments kinda discouraged me from doing so. Probably gonna read the manga if i dont start the anime anytime soon.

I'm watching Valvrave for the fights and for crazy plot. And yes, ep2 had cool fights (with some added crazy).
I basically agree about Gargantia, while it is my favorite out of the three mecha shows this season, it's certainly the one that has the worst mecha, and quite frankly I don't really care about that as it's not about the fights anyway. The best thing about Chamber is that he talks.

I've been actively watching Photo Kano, Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko, Leviathan and Oreimo. So far my opinion of all of those is pretty good, and there's loads of other things that I haven't had time to watch (or don't want to watch, saw Ep1 of titans and decided it was too dark for me).
I guess if you like mecha you won't really like this season maybe? I can only think of Valvrave and Gundam seed being shown. And Valvrave is getting some extremely mixed opinions.
