Azumanga Daioh may be targeted towards 18+ males, doesn't make it a seinen. Regardless, I agree with a lot of your MAL scores Seinen is NOT a genre. It's a demographic. A genre tells you what the show or media is about, aka sci-fi, fantasy, horror. Seinen doesn't tell you that. Seinen means it's aimed at 18-24+ year olds, and will consist of a variety of genres.

So even if the anime is darker and bloodier, it would still be a shounen if the manga falls into that category. Aa! Megami-sama! is for <15 years old, why is it in a seinen magazine? It just makes no sense to me.

Uh, Ah! My Goddess, is definitely Seinen. Harem shows that show more skin, show more blood/death, or have a more romance based focus instead of just fun with friends Harem tend to be Seinen.

When in reality, "Seinen" has absolutely nothing at all to do with the content, with how dark, bloody, or "mature" it is. Which is why terms like "Seinen", "Shounen", and "Shoujo" are by far the most useless ways to describe an anime ever. I don't really think this is an argument either, unless you want to argue with a dictionary :/

Hmm, well yeah, that's the definition for the word "seinen". I have still a hard time classifying K-ON as seinen, even if that would probably be this show's main demographic group. That's why if you look for the "Seinen" genre on MAL (which is what everyone links anyway :D), you will find what Gobe was looking for: less cute girls and haremish stuff. When I see an anime tagged as seinen, as you said, I expect a variety of genres, but not all of them either.

But then again, I know people who claim to be "shounen fanboys", but insist the term only applies to DBZ clones, and therefore refuse to watch other shounen stuff like Gundam or TTGL because "not shounen", lol. Things like that is why I just really dislike those terms in general, since everyone means something different when they use them.

I feel like the only place the words Shonen/Seinen/Shoujo/Josei apply usefully are to drama and romance.
Otherwise useless.

Just finished The Breaker...
Holy shit, I seriously am interesting in the sequel and can't wait to start reading it. But I just felt that "part 1" was too short, it felt a bit rushed.
Will "New Waves" also be this fast in progression?

I vote for slice-of-life as most useless content identifier.

I dislike New Wave, honestly, I kind of gave up on it. I also disliked the second half of the original Breaker, since the draw for me was the mystery surrounding the characters, but instead what we got was "lol 50 chapter fight scene" and then a character and story almost reset and a bunch of new characters I don't particularly care for. Was kind of frustrating to me.

WTF Death Notes is obviously Shoujou! That chara design!

Finished watching GitS: SAC, both seasons as well as the Solid State Society movie. I think it was a great watch, and while I really liked the original movie and Innocence as well, I think SAC ends up being slightly better as a whole mainly due to the fact that it's a lot longer. And also because of the Tachikomas. I just love those guys. The Tachikomas and Batou are easily the best characters.
On to getting started on Inganock for real, I've only read a little bit so far but the atmosphere/setting seems really cool.

Fuck me though, I have a massive assignement for Wednesday and I just can't look away from the computer screen.

Watching Phantom Arc of Votoms and it feels like fan service more than an actual story, not that I'm complaining since I wanted that in Shining Heresy. By fan service I mean throw backs to the original Votoms story, recreating original scenes with slight variations and better graphics.
