Amatsuki is god awful, I sat through 2 episodes of that. There is no hook for that show, it's like running in place, you don't get any where.

I just finished watching the DTB 2 OVAs which i liked very much but when are taking place chronologicly before gemini or in the middle. Also angle beats its a parady right?
O and ofc YYYIIINNNN shes like ultra rei.Stoics FTW

They both seem to be set in a virtual reality sort of setting, and in both cases that-which-is-inside seems not to have much consciousness of the "real" world. I'm seeing like a big circle containing Angel Beat (obviously just surmising for this one), Amatsuki, and .hack//sign, among I'm sure others.

well angle beat seems to me like a joke version of dissappearence with an 11 eyes back drop, so the bit with the band didnt make you go WTF.

DRRR's new OP gives the show an entirely different feel. The new characters introduced are a lot more serious looking and it seems like the show is taking a different approach.

I can't deal with VR worlds any more, everything goes to shit once it leans too much on the VR world. Speaking for the anime versions of course, no idea about the manga.

Hey so anyone know when Rainbow - Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin gonna be subbed ... its been already a week i guess and still no subs. This is the only show that i look forward watching this season.

Mazui's subbed the camrip of Disappearance if you're truly desperate, but as like we mentioned earlier in the thread, the quality is pure eye cancer. It should only be a couple more months until the DVD gets released anyway. Still, long-haired Haruhi is superior.

I am not watching Angel Beats though...and I probably won't.
I am starting on a vintage binge, going through some oldies since there's nothing out that I am thoroughly interested in.

Yeah that it is Maeda Jun is reason enough for me too, that said, Key threw a fair amount of curveballs at us with LB and Clannad, I am personally not quite sold on the VR idea yet myself.

Also, yes, ponytail Suzumiya is awesome, so is long hair Fujioka Haruhi. Too bad the manga happily stuck with canon and went with Tamaki though. Bah.

I'm not sold on the idea of a VR, and I keep getting Amatsuki vibes. For those that don't know of it, and don't mind spoilers, + Show Spoiler +it's about a guy that appears to wander into 'the past' while he's at a very high-tech VR-ish historical exhibit, and after like, I dunno, 5 volumes? you start getting these random chapters showing "the real world," of people working on a VR "game," and about 8? volumes in you see the "real" version of the main character, whom obviously is not aware that he has a separate "consciousness" stuck in the VR.

On the matter of Angel Beats, Southlight, have you came across the prequel novel segments? Think it is getting published monthly till around May, have yet to be able to find raws but for one chapter.
Oh, so that's how Amatsuki went? I got rather bored of it pretty fast, I must confess, didn't get nearly to that point.
Anyhow, probably going to be reading more bungaku shoujo (I was a wuss and couldn't finish the series due to dread, so I went to read Song of Fire and Ice. Not sure how that balances out) and wait eagerly for the third gaiden to get shipped to me...whenever it gets shipped to me.
What's everyone's impression of this season so far? Trying to look for some things to watch. How did the second anime no chikara project go?

I liked Amatsuki, but mainly because Kuchiha was cute. But then it started falling apart when they brought in the VR stuff, nyeh. Haven't followed it since.
I had no idea AB had prequel novel segments >_> On a related-yet-unrelated note, I actually found the novel segments for Witches in the Holy Night, but I've sealed them up in a corner because I'd rather wait for the VN first :d
This season, well it's better than last season where all I watched was DRRR, maybe. But it's only the first week; I don't know what else I'll be dropping by the end of the month :p
Started translating Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou, dunno what my friend's doing with my Hikuushi trans, hahahah. I may have to just go and donate it to Baka-Tsuki or something, just because it'd give it a good home, but I dunno. Also have a set of Legend of Zelda comics being done on Pixiv that I wanna translate but I can't find an editor, boo.
