Also we need much MORE explanations of shit that is happening, maybe we will get there in the next episodes. And is it just me thinking that "the skills" of this "MMORPG" were really shitty? i mean im playing vindictus since 1 week ago and the skills there trash SAO pathetic excuse of skills(and you can cook in vindictus also...) Maybe i expected a bit too much of this "MMORPG" even tho it was actually an anime not a game itself... It depends on what you mean by "skills" are "shitty". Do they look shitty? Ehh idk, don't look too bad to me. Are the concepts of them shitty? In a way, but it is something that simply isn't covered by the anime. Do you mean something else entirely? Better make yourself clear since you aren't making much sense atm.
I am too lazy to dig up what I was saying early on in the season about SAO so maybe someone will dig up my posts about how they have shitty storyboarding.

Its much more important to make many new arcs based on games with virtually none of the potential tension SAO had due to its Death-Game status, and build harems. Harem building is actually the most important aspect of telling any story, btw. Well, I believe many pointed it out, or I've read it somewhere, but building harems = pleasing the a base of viewers = make internet money!!!!!!!! Its really unfortunate that the costs of productions are so high that producers are scared to go with unconventional ideas Or, it could be that the creator of SAO is just a bad author... Except even the harshest critic in Uta noted that just vol 1 of SAO was fine, the problem was that the anime adaptation simply didn't work the same way. The idea that you mentioned would basically be + Show Spoiler [SAO] +the original plan at hand by Heathcliff. That the author actually continued on from Aincrad was the issue. Also, the author's latest retcon basically involves fleshing out the Aincrad universe a lot more, working out to be essentially what you seem to want. Cliche as it is. Oh yeah, Alicization also took that same approach.

I don't really hate SAO, what I find is:
The setting is really cool and some of the MMO elements were really nicely done(cooking n shit, fights looked really nice). The sidestories didn't make any sense in the end(maybe they will in the future, but for now, no idea, they don't seem relevant at all). He basically clears the bottom 2 levels and the top 2 levels(wtf?). Story progression didn't make any sense. Asuna was nice at first and then she got whiny as hell.
I did like it but it has so, so much more potential.
Also I liked the music and the OP of the anime.

In terms of the actual books, he doesn't even clear the bottom 2 levels, they just skip to the end. The point wasn't about the struggle to get up there, but the way anime handled it certainly didn't make it seem like the case.

Even until the commander of KOB + Show Spoiler +which was later revealed to be Kayaba had to be like "man, what's up with this kid wasting his time here. I guess i just have to duel him so that he joins the guild and puts in more effort towards ending the game." If you read the light novels it makes a lot more sense IMO. I think they felt rushed to finish the SAO arc, honestly I'm not sure why they spent so much time on the silly yui / fisherman side stories. + Show Spoiler [light novel spoilers] + In the light novel, when Kayaba challenges Kirito after defeating 75th floor, Asuna says “No, Kirito-kun...! He's trying to get rid of you first... Right now... Right now you have to back down...!”
Also, the fight between Kayaba and Kirito is not really portrayed well in the anime. There wasn't enough emphasis on the fact that Kirito was holding his own without using any in-game skills, but in desperation decided to try one and Kayaba instantly pwns him. Also Asuna jumping in front of Kirito at the end makes no sense in the anime, but you can read her thoughts leading up to her breaking out of paralysis in the light novel.
If you bothered with the books you should know why they did Yui, not to mention that Yui is cool. As for Nishida, poor man never appears again in the series, at least give him some screentime now.
That said, in terms of the anime, Nishida doesn't do anything that Yui didn't do, it was a pretty pointless half an episode to waste.

I guess i just have to duel him so that he joins the guild and puts in more effort towards ending the game." I suggest you either rewatch or try to recall what actually ends up happening. The anime and the source aren't exactly great but you seem to be remembering a lot of things wrongly lol. About the decision to duel, anime fucked up pretty hard and didn't cover that theme really when it had the chance. Well, i watched the whole series in a day so maybe you could explain what you mean by remembering wrongly? For one, Kirito didn't hate the SAO game. The talk with him and Asuna wasn't about how they dislike the game SAO, but about how they were terrified that they would be content living in the SAO world. He also did a shitton in terms of getting the game cleared. Or rather, if not, he kinda wouldn't be releasing dungeon maps and be at the frontlines now would he.
The duel had a bunch of reasons, the anime didn't do well in terms of shaping that line of plot. + Show Spoiler [SAO] +While Asuna said that Heathcliff was simply trying to remove the obstacle in Kirito, that wasn't the entire reason. Heathcliff was obsessed with the concept of the virtual world and its effects on human beings. Kirito was one of the first people to push the limits of the said world to the max, so he simply wanted to see for himself exactly what Kirito has in him. That and the author just wants to avoid the standard fight to floor 100 approach.

How does .Hack compares against Accel world and SAO?
I'm staying home today and am looking for an amazing anime, (a la FMAB, Fate/Zero, Madoka) -.-

Though IMO .hack is "above average" at best. Not worth it if you just wanna watch something over the day. You should specify what you're after, alternatively post a MAL.

Last Exile! The opening scene still give me chills.

Do you ever do anything but go on about Last Exile?
+ Show Spoiler +I thought it was mediocre, personally.

I only talk about it more than others because it's incredibly under appreciated no one else talk about it. And I certainly talk about it far less than others talk about SAO / Muv-Luv and other stuff.

I liked it a lot, too bad the manga is sort of meh at times (Kensuke zzzzz).

I think most of my complaints about garei were on the IRC since I can't seem to find posts about how I think it is was pretty mediocre.
Hayate continues to disappoint, 2 episodes w/o Hina or aa-tan

Just do what most sane person do, pretend the "sequel" never existed. Statute of limitation on sequels should be 3 years anyway.
At the time, the joke on Gonzo was that they always fuck up the ending. It took them more than 8 years to get the last laugh.

Considering SAO was volume 1, I'm not saying there was a vol1 harem, although he retroactively gave MMO Jesus a harem during that period with side stories.

Kensuke aside the Ga Rei manga was decent enough. For starters you actually have the Ga-rei being relevant in the manga.
+ Show Spoiler + Action aside the anime just does what it can to make Yomi as much a victim of circumstance as possible which pretty much shapes most of the major relationships later on so I dont see where the mediocrity pops up in the manga going from the anime since the sobstory's are pretty much in the same vein.
The only outlier is Kensuke.
Also lol @ puppey Byakuei

o hey, and also... I watched the first episode of fairy tail and seemed a little insane(alot of stuff happened really fast and what not)
does this get any more serious or it stays with this comedic tone all time pretty much?
