Both of those are rather on the dryer side of off the wall though, im not a huge fan but Baka Test but it might not be to far off from what your looking for either. Seto No Hayanome is pretty good aswell.

First things first: Yeah I checked the pic in the message and checked out some of those but nothing really fitting dead on. The problem when trying to find something is that I'm looking for something weird / funny. No particular preferences on a genre (yet?) I guess, which makes it kind of hard to search for something specific because there's no "weird" category I could search for.
I'm saying that because what I've seen so far (and considered it to be pretty much dead on) is Kore wa zombie desu ka and that show was hilarious. That being said I really don't know what to look for because it was so random and utterly weird. So I guess I'm looking for something funny/weird? Considering the "funny"-part it doesn't have to have a good story as long as it's a funny show you can watch inbetween without too much thought, so probably nothing too serious. "Weird" really can be anything I guess. No matter if it's Sci-Fi, vampires, magic or whatever else as long as it's not real mecha (you know, guys sitting in huge robots, whatever that's called). As long as you can see the characters it's fine though.
Again, advice would be much appreciated. It's kind of hard to search for something if you're new to this and on top of that don't really know what to look for.
baka to test seto no hanayome excel saga FLCL Panty & Stocking Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan binbougami ga! ika musume cube x cursed x curious
to name a few <.< if you are new to anime some may be too weird even, so have fun trying them out!

I think Gurren Lagann is the most frustrating anime I've ever watched. It's so terrible that watching it is boring but it isn't bad enough to stop watching. I'm on episode 20, does it get any better?

Isn't it like.....26 episodes long?
27. But maybe it somehow does a turn around idk. NGE gets ridiculously different towards the end, Gainax might pull something similar

What's boring about it? While the plot isn't the best thing ever contrived, it moves at a good enough pace to keep things interesting.
20... you're just after the timeskip, right? There's more action and less wordswords semi-beurecratic monologue-ing coming up soon.

I don't think the series is that bad, but the scale has gotten so ludicrous. I think the plot tried to do too much in too few episode, the concept was interesting but nothing was ever given much time to do anything, I couldn't find myself caring about the characters and their struggles.
I hate the Attenborough guy so much. His animation, his voice, everything is so annoying, but that's independent of m criticism and just a gripe

TTGL is straight up refuge in audacity. Many people like the insanity and over-the-top attitude, many don't. I understand both sides, but it's one of my personal favorites when I just want to see cool shit blow up and giant robot fights with little thought involved.

I'm just getting back into anime since I stopped watching around 4 yeas ago. I loved Evangelion and Code Geass type mechas, got any recommendations in that style? Whether its mecha or not doesn't matter
