If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Yeah if the dead people dont stay dead they would actually completely ruin anything they had. I dont think theyd bring em back.

Oh yeah, maybe it'd be worth it to check Sword Art Online out ... Even though it'd be solely because of Kajiura Yuki. Then again I've watched probably around 10 mediocre animes because of her so nothing new there.

Just go on Pixiv and look at pictures of the hot girls from SAO instead.

Accel World's main chars are kind of OP too, but they actually "work as a team" to defeat their opponents. Asuna is more of an energy drink to Kirito imo

AW is the more refined product by the author where he realizes that it is easier to write a harem than to write an OTP then slap girls into it. Pig really should kill everyone by himself except he is a beta pig, so 'teamwork' is born in order to diversify the harem members and make it easier to sell related goods. The Kira Yamato of MMOs in Kirito is by far more interesting to read about than the halfassed teamwork of AW, especially when the former actually gets built in as the theme of the series whereas pig's harem just needs DEBAN.

Well, it does completely ruin everything it had going for it in a way you might not expect, though I'd be surprised if you've managed to avoid that spoiler up to this point. I'm curious to see people's reactions to the next 1-2 eps who somehow have avoided the spoiler.

author says lol don't know what to do with SAO guess I'll just end the game! I mean, the SAO world had a lot of potential themes and directions it could explore, but he never does anything with it and just tosses all possibilities out the window.

there is a reason he is supposed to be doing a massive retcon/rewrite of the Aincrad days.

They probably won't, though the idea of an Azumi route feels ridiculous unless they want to switch MC.

EDIT - Took a better look, guess they won't be doing that. Also rofl that first append has the Mayuzumi imouto, really just throwing every random character a route. Really going with that DLC spirit here.

I know, but in terms of the anime, is that really relevant?

I guess what attracted me to it was because :

So far, I'd say that it is not the masterpiece some people claim it to be. But neither is it as disastrous as some others claim it is.

I like the fights in general, but Kirito feels OP.

I understand that the main guy is a loner. But because of that, it feels like every episodes can be a short story (and not part of a single story). The characters we meet and learn in 1 episode are no longer mentioned in the next one

I'm hoping when the serie ends and the good people manage to clear the game, that the dead people stays dead... If they come back alive, I'll feel cheated

Yeah if the dead people dont stay dead they would actually completely ruin anything they had. I dont think theyd bring em back.

Well, it does completely ruin everything it had going for it in a way you might not expect, though I'd be surprised if you've managed to avoid that spoiler up to this point. I'm curious to see people's reactions to the next 1-2 eps who somehow have avoided the spoiler.

Which spoiler? I mean the only thing that will happen isn't really about what you are talking about here.

author says lol don't know what to do with SAO guess I'll just end the game! I mean, the SAO world had a lot of potential themes and directions it could explore, but he never does anything with it and just tosses all possibilities out the window.

there is a reason he is supposed to be doing a massive retcon/rewrite of the Aincrad days.

I know, but in terms of the anime, is that really relevant?

Strictly speaking we've seen a little bit of it already. In terms of the anime though it doesn't even have all that much to do with what you said, the adaptation is just really lackluster and hardly uses the potential and fame of the source well.

Kirito is OP, you haven't seen anything yet

I feel like that should be my line to you and not you them.

lol, if thats true, then I got no idea what to expect from vol 10, whenever it gets translated. Vol 9 was okay despite the big boring info dump, was nice to + Show Spoiler +
not have Kirito instantly be the strongest person in the game upon joining it for once
, but you are implying that vol 10 has Kirito out-do his exploits from Vol 3-6?

edit: speak of the devil, looks like vol 10 is fully translated now

I can't believe you read all the way up volume 9 Sent... I could barely stand reading through volume 3 and 4 (ALO). I think stopping there was good enough especially if the other volumes are worse.

I personally thought that volume 3-4, and 7, were the low points of the story, with 3-4 being especially low. But I can actually make it through a good deal of bad stuff if bored enough. I've watched both season of Strike Witches, for example.

The only parts I felt that were not boring was the end of vol 1 and end of vol 4. I guess I could include the some of the side stories as well.

Are you saying GGO or whatever it's abbreviated (volume 5 I think?) is worth reading?
