Just watched the most recent SAO episode.... DAMN I LOVE THIS SHIT, it probably takes the spot of my favorite anime of all time now. I know there are others that are "better", but srsly. Being an online gamer and shit, I've been playing online mmorpgs since my nuts dropped and this anime strikes a very special chord with me.

MC will sulk and everyone introduced will try to help him in his/her own way while dealing with their own problems. If you're expecting action or engaging storyline, look somewhere else. The anime is trying to teach you a life lesson with shit execution.

I get the same feeling, while there are clear flaws with the anime the whole show just gives me a great feeling. Dunno why, I havent even played many mmorpgs. Part of it is problaby the awesome OP and nice background art.

You idiots... How can you be so narrow-minded? Stop being so focused on characterization. Human emotions aren't logical and interpretable. Not to say .hack SIGN was amazing in any way, but just because the narration isn't normative, the pace is slow and the characters aren't likable doesn't make the anime itself any worse. Why can't 'anime fans' distinguish between objective character presentation and their subjective liking of various traits? It's because of shit like this that we have retarded otakus masturbating to their precious and pure Azu-nyan~, and Rie making the exact same VA role in every new anime, and that recycled concepts with 5 minute efforts sell so they can make even more sequels.

I agree some of the stuff has flaws and some of the mmorpg stuff makes you question it a bit but they get the job done and it's just presented in and done with a really nice way that it's enjoyable
