I don't understand. Why wouldn't you want to get all the bad ends? They involve Shirou dying, don't they? Win-win situation imo.
Besides, if you don't want dead ends you could just use the flowchart that's included with the patch...

Because you'd have to do all the first two routes to unlock.
To answer your question, yes, you can. It'll unlock the last route and give you the option to enter it.

Those scenes aren't cgs. But use the few chart, it'll help.

Check the Fate program folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Fate) - the patch should have added the flow chart right there.

I recommend Swan Song, apocalypse survival without zombies. Reasonable length and pretty much one linear story instead of a ton of mediocre extra arcs (there is one optional extra end aside from bad ends). The MC can be a bit of an ass though (think Chiaki in Nodame Cantabile).

As much hate as it gets, I'd say Katawa Shoujo is a pretty good place to start. At least that's where i began. Fate/Stay Night is probably also pretty ok, as long as you remember to save at every choice.
(as much as i'd like to say clannad, that thing is nowhere near entry level with the amount of routes and cryptic paths you need to follow to get to the true ending)

Also Higurashi and Umineko from 7th expansion! If you want a mystery genre VN with some might think scary horror feel. They got great plots and music. Same for G-senjou no Maou.
Also Muv Luv trilogy is pure awesome sauce! Key's VN all around all great imo. Saya no Uta is also great tho its kinda fuckd up ;D Ever17 -the out of infinity- is also great!
Btw does Rewrite have a completed english translation? :o Edit.
