If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Now and Then, Here and There is really depressing. More depressing than Clannad.

I really enjoyed the anime despite the main character. One of my favorites of all time.

Request: Can anyone romanize the song titles from the new Darker than Black 2 soundtrack? Since it was only released last week, I haven't found any romanized tracklists. I can't read Japanese, and I don't like tagging songs in English, so I'd really appreciate if someone could post a romanized list.

Soundtrack is here: http://bssubs.net/2009/12/darker-than-black-gemini-of-the-meteor-ost/

Thanks

It seems that they updated the torrent with English titles. If you can provide the Japanese titles, I might be able to help. Someone on the BSS blog may help you too if you comment.

I have dial up and I can only get a season (26 episodes) about once a month. Any anime that I should get?

May the second season not have an ounce of attempted drama.

Mmmm what do you guys think would be a good anime for marathoning with two people who don't watch anime often (one of them having watched none at all I believe). A friend (and her boyfriend) and I are planning to watch an entire series in one day but I'm a bit unsure on what would be interesting enough to hold their attention for like eight hours lol.

AFAIK she enjoys light hearted / comedic romancey animes, but she said whatever is fine. I was thinking Clannad would be an excellent choice since almost everyone I asked who has seen that said they watched it all over the span of 1-2 days, or possibly Kanon might work, but iunno. I'd like to find something that has tear jerking moments and isn't extremely dramatic the entire time, but romance animes that make you cry and are captivating enough to watch in one sitting are far and few :>.

I would suggest something 12 ep long, (or basically 5-6 hours)

Furi kuri (FLCL) definately fits into the comedy romance lighthearted genre, apart from that its probably one of the best series of all time (4 hours)

Clannad is really long, kanon is moderately long and fits the genre though the first 4 eps are slow

K-On 2? I'm expecting another 12 episode season considering that the manga hasn't gotten too much farther than where season 1 ended.

Mori600: Depends on what you like to watch. Pandora Hearts was a little bit of a sleeper hit. You could also try Ghost Hound if you liked Texhnolyze and Lain (same script writer).

Btw, yes Qwaser of Stigmata is about breast milk. If you haven't seen the manga, it's bordering right on the cusp of hentai. So very close...

Humbug: Anime marathon? As in continuous anime? I think the 26ish episode animes might be a bit extreme for that, but along with Clannad and Kanon, I'd recommend ef - a tale of memories (12 episodes) along with ef - a tale of melodies (12 episodes), Toradora! (25 episodes), and True Tears (13 episodes). If you're looking for something just as touching but don't have the 5 hours to burn, I'd wholeheartedly recommend 5 Centimeters per Second (~1 hour).

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was "Watched or (encountered and disliked) all of d3_crescentia's suggestions. Probably should have said "Watched and liked or encountered and disliked" o_O. Sorry.

You want to recommend a loli ecchi show for three people to watch? What's wrong with you man.

You know i just realised i have never cried in an anime

tear up a little, feel REALLY sad, the emotions are wrecking me but i never cry, i dont know why. I feel like i really want to cry and i want to bawl out but i cant sometimes and thats sad :<

bokura ga ita hit me so hard i never felt so strongly emotionally but i still couldnt cry. I guess when i broke up with my ex and all the stuff after i didnt cry either but i felt exactly the same.

Last time i cried really was when i was missing my parents and i was talking to them on skype.. I think maybe it is only my parents which have the power to make me cry nowadays lol
