Finding someone on L's level is a bit difficult though. | ||

He should definitely check out The World God Only Knows. He did say that genre wasn't as important to him as the character being intelligent/plotting-type and eccentric. I think Keima definitely fits both those traits considering how he approaches each conquest, and his ... unhealthy interest in dating sims. But, L is pretty much a one of a kind character. One reason why L is such a popular character. But I guess the only similar character I guess would be Lelouch from Code Geass. Not in how they are actually similar, but a lot of people always compare the two to each other (with the whole CG vs DN debate), and both shows are ridiculously popular. Oh, and while we are on the topic for recommendations, I was wondering if people knew of any anime that is both a psychological/thriller/"seinen-ish" type that also has some romance in it. I was thinking of something like Stein's Gate, where romance doesn't have to be the focus but there was obviously romantic development between Okarin and Kurisu. Or it could be more romantic-oriented but still have a compelling storyline that kind of makes you think, like ef-tale of memories. I've kind of been interested in both types of anime recently, but it's kind of hard to find ones that have elements of both since they are quite different. And doesn't have to be pure psychological/thriller, it could be action/fantasy stuff too. I just kind of want something a bit more mature than your typical shounen romance hybrid, like Shana etc. I like those, but I'm in the mood for something different right now since there are a ton of those. | ||

Also Yoko Kanno is doing music again, so music is virtually guaranteed to be great too. Apparently its set 12,000 years after the first one, so it seems like watching the original isn't required. | ||
