Im also a bit dissapointed, I was expecting something more "To Love Ru-ish" since this was from Xebec. But still gonna give this anime a episode or two before I decide if its for me or not.
You do know Xebec is more known for Nadesico right

My favorite Xebec anime are Heroic Age and Zoids.
You expected a shitty harem ecchi show?
So far it's exactly what I thought it would be, moe girl piloting a giant robot.
It's not what I'd like out of a mecha show, but for the most part I felt it was done pretty well and I'll still watch it.

So if you have only watched 2 anime done by Xebec, why would you assume they all would be alike, with a sample size of 2?
Dunno, Softenni and Motto seemed extremely similar. And Motto was also a remake of the original TLR. So I thought Xebec just specializes in ecchi/comedy only.

they dont specialize in anything, they do pretty much everything, dont think theres a genre they havent done across the shows Ive seen anyway,(none of which are mech or involved space in anyway which seems to be the popular mentions here). And Xebec has a reasonable CV of shitty harem ecchi shows. More so perhaps thans moe girls piloting robots in recent years, so it isnt to unreasonable (if you didnt read what the show was about) to assume they'd make another one.
edit- Morita-san ended, I didnt think It would make me upset knowing I wont get my 3 mins of moe everyweek.

I am not fussed of what genre it might be based in, just want the best 10 anime that was produced in 2011 that most people can agree on.
Thanks! :D
In 2011...hmm...let me try to remember this year...
Well based on what a lot of people liked this year
Anohana Steins;Gate Technically Madoka finished in 2011 Fate/Zero Usagi Drop
2011 anime that I actually finished off the top of my head... Anohana, Nichijou, SRW OGIN. I got spoiled in F/Z, already read the VN for S;G, and found Madoka uninteresting. Most of my anime time last year was spent catching up on older shows.

Uhhhh....help me out guys.
Madoka hasn't finished yet?
Maybe add Horuou Musuko and Penguin Drum, or did it turn trash in the second half?

I was referring to the fact that Madoka started in 2010 and ended in 2011, but I didn't know if he had watched any series in 2010, so yeah.
Yeah, add Penguindrum. I thought it was good. Guilty Crown is pretty good too. I think it's worth a watch. Horizon is definitely only for some people though. I can't really vouch for it.
Edit: In terms of comedy stuff, Nichijou I thought was pretty good, Ika Musume S2 was also good, and I thought the second season of Working got a lot better.
