For assassin, whose true identity (beyond the Old Man of the Mountain) is never known historically, you have the "belief" in which all assassins are "Hassan" (hence the name), and therefore by relation every assassin ends up being the Old Man of the Mountain. + Show Spoiler + I figured it had something to do with his true identity not actually being known, resulting in many different "forms." IIRC that guy couldn't split into multiple assassins.
If I'm not mistaken + Show Spoiler +things got thrown out of whack due to the corruption of the Grail in the 3rd War and Caster cheating the system to summon a servant. Hence the servant she got wasn't really a "true" one (hence true assassin being summoned later) and was more a conglomeration of random legends that became upon summation someone with the like of a certain Japanese legend.

+ Show Spoiler + I think since the True Assasin in heavens feel is summoned from the flesh from the fake Assasin it probably threw everything out of whack and instead of getting multiple personalities style assasin they got the one entity,
I think that ones motivation for being a hero is different aswell Sakura says something like that when she's in crazy angra mode about losing his identity and wanting to exist forever. This part is just conjecture though.

Wait, does Horizon actually make sense now? I'm probably going to watch 1 episode of Mirai Nikki, read the manga up to that point, and then watch the next episode and read again since I don't really want to spoil myself for the anime.

You won't get what's actually happening until the end of book 1 (~ep 6) because that's when the plot finally kicks off, until that point what you see are glimpses of preparations for it. But you won't realize it until after the fact.
They do explain a lot about Toori (and another key person)'s past in ep 3. Enough that you'll understand his background, which is critical.
Unfortunately they completely skipped a significant scene with regards to the two characters whom are most prominent in the first book. They can't do that scene anymore either because of 1) the plot beginning to move and 2) one of the characters in the scene being gone. This leads to some fears from me regarding how well one character is received (impossible now to match the love she should get, she's so awesome ) as well as how Sunrise decides to do the climactic battle of the first book.
Edit: But my love will not be denied O_O
They could hear footsteps from afar, outside of the store. Futayo looked toward the entrance, toward the person those footsteps belonged to, and then,
"-Kaduno-sama."
"Judgement."
Answered the tall lady wearing maid clothing, as she stepped onto the tatami room. An automata. When he saw the black horn-shaped listening devices rising from the ears, Sakai dropped his mid-sized sake flask in astonishment, and then,
"Shit, Kaduno...!"
"Judgement. --Pitiful. It's just Sakai-sama."
She, Kaduno, half-looked at him, and then,
"Despite being demoted, to have come back here carefreely without providing any service to a young lady with a future and instead opting to simply drink. I have determined that you are 'quite an adult.' Futayo-sama, please return to the residence."
"... Dacchan (Tadakatsu), it's been 10 years, and this woman, still at your place?"
"I can't help it. She's the one that comes closest to matching my wife's cooking, she can replicate my wife's swordsmanship, and she's capable enough with manners and etiquette to be able to train others..."
Judgement, said Kaduno as she lowered her head.
"Currently, I am Futayo-sama's instructor for combat fundamentals. Futayo-sama is a lady who has come of age, yet Tadakatsu-sama smiply goes 'lets take a bath together!' or 'lets go each yakiniku!' and is therefore extremely useless. --Pitiful."
"Ahh, Dacchan has always been pretty useless."
Said Sakai, and suddenly roughly 30 centimeters ahead of his right eye, something sharp was being pointed at him.
A bamboo skewer.
A single bamboo skewer, which had been used to skewer yakitori, was floating in the air, and pointed at his right eye.
And past that, Kaduno's right hand was lifted to her shoulder's height, and was directed toward him.
"-- You are in acceptable range for gravity control. Tadakatsu-sama is useless, but he is still my master, and I will not tolerate insults directed toward him."
"Dacchan, this woman, she's still adhering to that demonic rule of "It's okay if it's me, but not if it's other people?" If you're her master, do something about it. If she's been like this for over ten years, can't you complain that her personality is broken as an automata?"
"You know I'm bad at verbal fights."
"There are no problems with my basic automata personality. Ever since the era of gods, automata have always required a personality for serving people, but have never required a personality for respecting people."

Making thing clears... Hassan is not 'a' entity, it's a organization.... It's a group of Assassins back in old Persian Era, so the servant in Fate/Zero is the whole organization. I've read all the Visual Novels + Anime.... + Show Spoiler +But in Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel scenario, there're only 1 Assassins left because that's the only number Zouken is able to keep because of the massive need of magic power without the support of the grail.

+ Show Spoiler +isnt it more like the organization had him as the founder and everyone who went on to lead after his death would take on the name/persona which created the myth of him basically never dying. The nature of the hashashins historically was pretty autocratic. Its not like the assasins were just a bunch of friends or contemporaries. It was very hierarchical and the manner in which they supposedly trained their subordinates were pretty harsh, making them drug addicts and conditioning them to not be able to operate without the drugs so they basically did what the top boss told them to or else. So its really just the different leaders of the organizations that continued the persona and qualified as candidate to be the heroic spirit Hassan I Sabbah (since they were all basically him) not the organization itself.
By the your logic Saber should be the knights of the round table not just arthur/arturia. The line doesnt really get drawn anywhere.
So I have a hard time believing its a group, Ill stick with the multiple persona's of the same guy theory for me personally. It just doesnt fit with the conditions the other legit heroes are subject to .
The reason you give for only one True Assasin in Heavens Feel seems very plausible though.

Does anyone have suggestions for good war manga? I just read Drifters and am looking for a manga where the MCs are leaders, generals, soldiers, etc involved in war (real or fantasy) or commanding troops and they employ strategy, politics, and tactics. I'm not really talking about something like Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night but more like...uh, idk, something else. I guess something along the lines of Legend of Galactic Heroes but in manga form would work. I know there were suggestion about anime with war/action and stuff earlier, but I'm looking for manga really centered around war.
