Don't get me wrong. I don't think it's bad otherwise I would not watch it and comment it. But great? seriously, any comedy in the recommendation list is better than this. Nichijou is good at most, but not the same level as the truly great ones. | ||

Using animes from the list at the top, I feel that Haruhi wasn't really comedy and more SoL, and I didn't really laugh much watching Zetsubo Sensei. I just didn't get that kind of humour. But Nichijou just gelled really well. In some ways, it's like Monty Python in the sense it just goes out and does its own thing and doesn't care too much for convention. | ||

It was still great but the expectation kept sorta rising ever time till the last third. The over the top slapstick is obviously not everyone's thing . The jokes themselves are really cliche. But so what ? Thats where its so awesome. It takes really really benign ideas and makes them funny which is just the execution. I mean the whole Sakamoto/Hakase/Nano dynamic of Hakase constantly fucking around with everyone was awesome. It got rehashed all the time and it was still usually funny. Mai is like the ultimate troll, being so much of a deadpan and trolling that hard was hilarious and Yoshino needed more airtime. most of the stuff got rehashed over and over again but it was funny every time for me atleast.
