u need to make sure the OP/ED file is in the same folder as the episode.
im assuming u downloaded the Bluray versions. u need teh OP and ED downloaded also for the codec to play them together.

Right watched first episode of Horizon now, didn't really know what to expect but at the very least I was expecting to be a decent serie.
First episode at least was awful, introducing like 30 characters in a single episode and just focusing on running around and really bad action. Thats going to get dropped instantly for me. I haven't really been enjoying recent Sunrise productions in general though.

Nichijou was legit.

What are the greats?

All that will stick with me from nichijou is that clip/mashup/video mashup/thing/whatever of yuuko going "OHAYO GOIZIMASU" in a really low voice that I CANNOT FIND (wink wink)

No. People were really hating on S;G here? I don't recall that at all. I loved it from the 1st episode. Nichijou was good. Some episodes were funnier than others but overall the comedy quality was high. My beef with it is, will it be memorable? It kinda felt like a watch-once-than-never-again-because-the-jokes-will-be-stale kind of comedy series.

I don't know if will survive but as "you" are obligated to was everything kyoani. But the series is a hit or miss and it did grow on me quite a bit.
I loved the awkward moments that was drag out of reason and hakase no moe. Mio and Yukko worked most of the time but Mai trolling didn't really hit me. Then again did I enjoyed Nano path being a normal girl quite cute.
It was quite a repeat, but alot of humor in anime is about knowing the reference and what will happen and just follow along. And this series is is something I will miss this season.

In hindsight, recall I cannot IDK if it was hate, but everyone was like "wtf this stuff doesn't make sense!" I wonder why people think that they should understand everything immediately in episode 1 when they are most likely using those shitty Hadena subs for it.

So many, to name a few: Macross, Gundam, Clannad, Gintama, ect. or some less popular ones as Monster, Saikano. There are many more, but I hardly see Nichijou would fit into the list.

Even if the subs were of higher quality, there was so little explanation that I can understand the hate. It was simply amusing to see.

Never said teaching lessons are requires to be greats. Comedies can be great, Gintama is also a comedy. It just in another class above Nichijou. Also some really good comedies are worth rewatching. I watched azumanga daioh more than 5 times and it never fails to amuse me.

Honestly, its not like the chart up there is full of quality, anyway. Lucky Star is on the chart.

Anyway, I'm not meaning to argue about sticking anything up there, but I just think saying "Well this anime isn't an ALL TIME GREAT, so it can't go" is kinda silly, considering that the chart has some entries with questionable quality.

I didn't like AzuDai and really liked Nichijou.
So what now?

Arguing over how good a comedy is incredibly stupid. We all have different senses of humor and only that can measure how funny a show is. I don't find Gintama that funny. Why? I wish I knew, but I can't deny its success and popularity. It's sad because I feel like I'm missing out on something "great" yet it doesn't entertain me. I found Nichijou very funny. Why? I don't really know either. It was stupidly random but it still made me laugh. Comedy and humor is not something that can be measured objectively so stop trying to rank comedies.
I could read a joke about the quantum effects of electrons on a synthesis reaction of an aromatic compound and I would consider it absolutely hilarious. 99.9% of the world wouldn't find it funny at all, partly due to understanding but mainly because most people don't give a damn about science. I mean, you can throw out the most basic science jokes and the average person will give you a look that says "wow you nerd...you enjoy that shit?" Does that mean the joke isn't funny? Does that mean it's not a "great" joke? I don't see how you can say it is or isn't. Granted, you can say nerd jokes are aimed specifically at a nerd audience; however, comedy like Nichijou and Gintama can't really pinpoint its audience because the comedy is too random to really explain.
