Guilty Crown has Jin Haganeya as one of the scriptwriters. Hopefully he has a lot of influence on the show so it doesn't devolve into Code Geass with pink CC. BokuTomo/Haganai DVD special that came with vol. 7 of the light novel is out. Marina Inoue's voice for Yozora feels really off, <3 Meat though. Subs should be soon. Hopefully it overtakes Haruhi has the #1 best selling light novel after the anime comes out. It'll probably be the most popular show in fall. C^3 trailer makes it look really terrible. About Haganai, as if I need more reason to hate on the readership of these things. One of the weaker short story oriented LNs and people loved it for whatever reason.
Horizon script > people who did shit. In fact, for something that is actually about mechs and boobs after a fashion, Horizon has excellent source to work with. Now to see if they can deliver. I am kinda skeptical.

Season 1 wasn't so bad until the end. IIRC, basically what happened was that the show went from a late night show and became a prime time show so they had to change their plans for season 2. Then the ratings for the prime time slot tanked so they had to keep one-upping themselves to appeal to the younger audience. I'm pretty sure half of the random stuff in the second season was basically cause one of the scriptwriters was reading 2ch. The stuff about Sayoko being a ninja maid and Orange being so popular was cause of 2ch.

Ah, I see. Well, I'll just pop in from time to time to see whether you guys have any recommendations for some new series For now, I don't have much to contribute or discuss heh.

+ Show Spoiler [Boku ha tomodachi ga sukunai ep 0] +Actually thoroughly disappointed at it. I was really excited for it. It was supposed to be comedy with a good premise judging from the synopsis. What I got: Nothing. No comedy, nothing what i expected...
Well fuck, now i dont have anything to look forward to this season.

lol well I think the best anime to recommend not so hardcore watcher is to just introduce them to anime that are like really easy to follow. My sister asked for anime recommendation and I gave her a whole list of good anime such as Bakemonogatari, Madoka stuff like that and she ended up just watching Naruto -.- since that day I just say Naruto to everything.

I'm not as pessimistic about Horizon because as long as they stick to the source material I can't fathom how they can fuck it up, but you never know for sure.

He still rated it at 8 though :|
Would you recommend any particular older animes? I've tried to convince him to watch legend of the galactic heroes for one, but he "doesn't like the old animation style" or something :/ You sound like me talking about Code Geass.

I haven't watched it but really? As long as they stick to source material, it should be great. Just reading a few chapters in the manga made me think it was only a matter of time before it became an anime. But I'll have to see it myself to make a judgement. Only thing that bothers me right now is Kana Hanazawa getting the role of Kobato, unless she does a very different voice than her usual.

Really? :D Glad someone thinks the same way...everyone, and I mean EVERYONE I KNOW [who watches the least bit of anime], PERIOD, gathers with others for circle-jerks over Code Geass, and I am collectively shunned for seeing the light of reason
Seriously, I could meet someone totally random at a party, casually inquire as to whether he watches anime, and chances are he will merp derp his way through why Code Geass is the best anime ever if he/she has seen it. It sounds caustically elitist, but this hatred of Code Geass (R2 at least, which screwed up what could have quite a bit of potential imoimoimo) has been fueled by the constant reminder that I am retarded for disliking the piece of art that is Code Geass :|
Edit: also if you guys are suspicious at my random jumping-in (at least that's the impression I get :o), I've been lurking TL for quite a while (but not for a ridiculously long time) and have seen quite a few threads around hehe. I've seen some of what you guys have discussed and get the gist of what happens, but don't necessarily recognize everyone and/or know about all the series being discussed or w/e.

You are such a party pooper. Ignorance is blessed. Just let them think that Geass is the best anime in the world. I dont think the world is ready to accept that Geass isnt as great as it seems. If you were to spread such talk around, you will cause the apocalypse

I liked it too and at a certain point in time in my past, I once though Geass was the best anime ever as well but coming to accept the fact that it was not the best utterly shatter my soul. I still like it but if only I could forget

I thought code geass was pretty bad ass when I first saw it. Then I watched R2, and then I thought more about it, and realized how retarded it was.

Also, my story pretty much is a parallel of most of yours Used to worship Code Geass as well, but literally woke up one day, and during the course of a discussion about its virtues, my eyes were opened O_O
