You can say that what comes after in the manga is where the story actually gets going, and that the golden age arc was just a prelude, but 30 volumes later Gatts hasn't seriously gotten any closer to revenge with Griffith than he had from the start. The last 10 volumes have all been like fight random trolls, Griffith god-moding everything, everyone is on a boat towards some island and being waylaid by pirates and all this random shit. The best story arc was what was covered by the anime, imo. Not to say that the manga is really bad, but you can't look at the latest chapters and say that all this DBZ fighting and giant tentacle monster is actually good. | ||

Latest chapters haven't been that bad, at least the art is still awesome haha, but Miura's apparently off idolmaster now so hopefully we get some quicker chapters with actual plot. I liked Zegapain alot, but it was because the plot was pretty good, character interactions, not because of anything new about it. + Show Spoiler + the ending was pretty sad T_T | ||
