anyway, i need some good sick anime recommendations.. my favorites are listed below; i love VERY unique plots that clearly were constructed well in advance (aka not Lost)
- Death Note (manga) - Monster (anime) - 20th Century Boys (manga)
Any tips? I've been watching Paranoia Agent, not sure how this is gonna end...

Death Note is my gate way anime. Also, the first manga I read is Death Note.
|
Yeah I think he reads a bit of manga too.

Death Note was good until the season 2, it just went downhill from their. Highschool of the Dead manga is good, anime not as much....Perhaps we should introduce Day[9] to Code Geass.

Well, I was being facetious but I guess it didn't get through. My grievances with Death Note:
This is flogging a dead horse, but I don't like Death Note because it's another one of those series that had a promising start but couldn't manage to end because of marketing purposes. Of course, that's the case with most Shounen Jump comics like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and like a billion others that have passed away through time, all with the same core idea. I think the writing, dialogue and "scripting" for Death Note was brilliant for the first, oh, 20-30 chapters. That is, before they introduced Misa. The 1v1 matchup between L and Light involved a lot of planning, fakes and counters. Afterward though, it felt like it degenerated into a series of Light getting lucky (Misa et all) and being one step ahead of L because of it. Essentially, it became a case of L getting screwed over by pure lack of information, and he seemed to stay caught up through leaps of faith. But you know, that's kind of alright, as it's hard to maintain that sort of high-tension intellectual battle when you're not really smart enough to do it either (if someone were to write a story about an incredibly high-level match of chess, but they'd only played chess casually, it'd be pretty sad, for a decent chess player, ya?). But the fact that it went for, what, 15 or so volumes (50 episodes) is just pure market milking. I will admit that the music was nice and the animation was great. Who can forget the epic potato chip eating hey?.

Death Note was amazing imo till the OP changed. Then it got terrible.
I mean look at Day[9] that pleb otaku, he should watch good animes like School Days. On his daily.

I like how all I had to do was disagree with 6 words to spark that..

Let's all combine our efforts and get Day[9] to watch real anime aka School Days.

You're comparing Steins;Gate, Code Geass, and Madoka to LoGH? Real?

Death Note bungled about half of the show. When a show is 50% train wreck, thats good enough reason to not like it. Saying such doesn't make you a hipster.

Well when it is all in contrast to School Days, it is all basically in the tip top league
