I don't want to participate in IRC for a while because it's too big of a distraction for me. I need to get my priorities straight, then I'll come back to it.

I think it is mainly because of the poor action but has anyone seen this and wana recommend me to keep continuing? I watched Shana S1 and S2, and I assume you are talking about the first season. Shana definitely has problems as a show, but I didn't think action was one of them. In fact, that was pretty much the only thing that got me through S1, and the promise of action was the only thing that made me grind S2. Shana S1 is ok, while S2 is a pile of shit other than like the last 5 episodes (out of 25 lol). So I say if you aren't enjoying S1, its only going to get worse for you. Well the action isnt particularly bad but it so unclear what their power are. Like how the first master with the doll was insanely powerful when fighting that blond flame haze BUT when fought shana, he was so weak....Also, the anime doesnt really explain their power really well and most of the time it just seem like they are just blasting each other with undefined magical blast kind of like kame-ha-me-ha blast. So it just feels like mindless action. Atleast that how I feel, and the Mistes kid is so annoying and useless and always in the way. It like they are intentionally doing this to mock the females in naruto. Whats his name, Yuji I think? Anyway, hes just a generic protagonist in modern anime. For some reason anime hates having strong male leads now days. Towards the end of Season 2, + Show Spoiler +he learns to control the power from that thing in him, which allows him to fight wiht a huge bigass sword in battles. And apparently, in the upcoming Season 3, + Show Spoiler +his mind gets taken over by it, and he turns evil and beats the shit out of Shana or some shit lol. That should be worth a watch once it happens! Season 1 wasn't spectacular, but it was ok. Season 2 was godawful until the second half. The only reason I made it through was because of Sabrac. Season 3 should be full of lulz for the reasons listed in the spoiler.

shana is a very interesting anime in a sense that it sparked a huge spread of japanese anime in 2005 but when i looked at that thing, i couldnt understand how could it be THAT successful.
