Hype hype hype. The scanlation of the Tsukihime manga finally finished. I have to say, for an adaptation, it's pretty good. I thought the AnoHana ending was going to be kinda meh until about halfway through the ep. Then it got better. It was just a little too overdone for my taste. Still, of all the shows that aired this season, I think this is my favorite. I'm also watching Aria, and it is awesome. So relaxing~ I'm also watching Gintama (200 episodes guh), and it is also awesome. Despite being a comedy, it manages to pull off some pretty decent dramatic moments. It handles this balancing act a lot more proficiently than, say, Angel Beats. Edit 1: Show nested quote +On June 26 2011 05:19 Dingotrold wrote: Is Pokémon considered a legitimate anime? Cool game, but the TV series barely had any content (though I guess the same could be said for DBZ). Why would it not be considered an anime? It's not like a show has to pass some arbitrary level of plot in order to be labelled as such. =/ Edit 2: Why did Usagi Drop have to timeskip? I could really care less about Rin's love problems. I liked the first four volumes because it primarily dealt with Daikichi and his experiences with being a parent/guardian, which I found genuinely interesting. With the timeskip though, now it's Kouki angst all the time. Goddamnit. I guess no good reason.. I almost don't think of Pokémon as a japanese franchise, but I guess there is no reason not to. Why would you think of Pokemon as non-Japanese? ;/ Edit: Man, I never really cared for cheongsam before, but I think I may have found a new fetish. Maybe it just took the right girl :3 + Show Spoiler + Franchise reminds me more of Transformers and GI Joe than the anime I just recently started watching... But these are the kind of thoughts that got me banned from IRC, so let's drop it! After you read that, tell me how hard it is language-wise; I'd like to read it too.

Like I think I mentioned once on irc, not gonna read Rewrite until walkthrough comes out. If Clannad and LB were any indication, gonna be too much time spent.

Well I'm dumb. Well I won't mess up this time.
+ Show Spoiler [Hanasaku Iroha 13] +Wow. If you don't like the story itself fine, but you gotta give PA Works props for brilliant storytelling for just smoothly moving Ohana's mom through the inn the way it did. The scene with Ohana/mom/grandma was touching in a sentimental kind of way, and really gave a glimpse to the similarities that all the women of the family have (stubborness, hatred for their mothers, etc). Ohana also admits her feelings for Ko too! Interesting to see where that turns out. What a great way to end the first part of the season...though next episode seems like what happens at the end of the first thirteen episodes...filler

POSSIBLE USAGI DROP SPOILERS AHEAD
+ Show Spoiler [mod edit] +So I read the 50 translated chapters of Usagi Drop yesterday and today and while I have to agree that the time skip was too early ,and for my liking too big of a skip, I dont think that the story turned worse after that.
If the author stayed too long with the small Rin, no matter how cute she is, the manga would have become shallow and repetitive. The skip towards her highschool age was too much though in my opinion especially considering that big amounts of content happened in her middle school days which got covered through backflashes. In my opinion it would have been better to start the timeskip from that period and not after the whole thing was over.
that we would get some kind of Kouki Rin loveproblems was not unexpected considering how well they got along as little kids, so I dont really see the problem here with that story arc. Koukis character is not overly angsty ( is there no better english word because in german it just means fear) but as far as I am concerned behaves like most high school guys would.
after the timeskip the next logical step was to develop the relationship between Daikichi and Rin and even more so after Koukis mom got out of the picture because of her remarriage. To me it never looked like Rin had any huge love drama emotions. So I kind of fail to see why you guys critizised her.

Ano Hana is DEFINITELY worth your time. The only improvements you could make to it was extend it to 15 episodes because I believe it ended a bit abruptly.

I think you could of liked Iroha EP13 soley based on funny faces.

Steins Gate ^^^.
The redhed is a "2chaner" or something like that.

Black Lagoon OVA's final episode was very, very good. The whole thing went above and beyond my expectations. Quite pleased.

Do you know when there's going to be a dvd release of it, like when it's going to be aired outside of Japan? I want to watch it with official subs, not some random amateur.

If you meant learn Japanese, actually I am going to take classes in a few months and I already know a tiny bit now, ofc not enough to watch without subs.

Visual novels are generally quite easy to read, if you know your kanji. I've started on it and the language seems to be at a normal difficulty level. But then again, I've studied Japanese for a long time.
Waited for this game for so long <3

It is another when you tell them to learn Japanese.
Or maybe it isn't.

Brave man, I wouldn't want to tackle a Key game without a walkthrough. Way to sink time unproductively
