Depends on what you mean by stupid, I might agree with you, heh. In fact I've always been much more of a fan for Tomoe than Kaoru, that damned raccoon
Umineko was neat, I kind of don't like how they have the whole screen flashing red now, but it is a pale red, so it might work yet. + Show Spoiler [game] +Episode 3's end definitely deserves a whole screen just blotted out by red
Anyone watched Suzumiya today? I am kind of just waiting since I never liked sighs that much even in book form.

I just finished Air. Honestly, it didn't really interest me that much. Not enough character development for me to feel any sort of attachment to them. Either that or the characters just weren't interesting enough for me. I'm watching Kanon now. Seems closer to the other Key anime, Clannad which I enjoyed immensely. Up to episode 8 and it seems alright.

Anyone actually watching Shangri-la this season? I remember I really liked the premise but found something that happened in ep2-3 really turned me away from it. Does it get better?

I've been wondering this myself.
Also, I really want Haruhi book 10 right now. I know the release date has been pushed back like a Blizzard game, but has there been any news as to why?

It has its moments, but still nothing special. They just making a movie. No Mikuru Beam. Between Sighs and EE, it's been a pretty blah season.

You were turned off by stupid transvestite characters and unforgivable jokes. It doesn't get better. In fact, it gets worse.

Damn, I really did like how the government would simply create carbon credits and force a city to purchase them to become more influential in the area.

Seriously I think Sighs exists just so that episode 00 can be hilarious as hell.

Not a freaking clue, and if we want to use a Blizzard game as example, Ghost is the best one. Albeit highly ominous.

Haruhi was traumatised and didn't come to school for days

I've been watching Bakemonogatari subbed by gg lately, was just wondering if there are any better subs out there to watch? simply due to the nature of the word play on the japanese language on that series, i don really don wanna miss out too much on that.

Anyone know any good all-ages, English translated virtual novels? I don't want to just sit and wait for Symphonic Rain to be finished.. If I can't find anything with good reviews I may just go with Clannad, but I'd prefer something I'm not already familiar with.

One can only hope. If they do I hope they don't cut it off like before. That anime was actually pretty good, and I liked the themes though I don't think they matched the anime too well.

+ Show Spoiler +Kyon and Itsuki getting ready to hit the guy who came up with the idea for "Endless Eight". They got the guns from Yuki but they don't want her to be in trouble with the police afterwards.

I want to try playing a Japanese visual novel just to see what it's like.

Unfortunately the majority of them that sees translations, afaik, are eroge/18+, but if you really want to try one. Try out Umineko no Naku Koro ni, yes, the one animated this season
All I can say is that personally I found the writing to be far superior than the anime, how much of that is my bias for the medium of text I don't know. It does make me look forward to rewrite so much though.
Anyway, most of them are probably some form of galge, so the likes of myself;yourself, kimikiss and amagami. Unfortunately I don't think there has been any movement to translate them for ps2 and I can't recall any ports.
