i've only recently been into watching diff anime since i have some free time, Toradora was pretty amazing, and just went through all of Elfen Lied today, holy shiot 0.0
I check animefreak.tv first and then go from there if they either don't have the show or the subs are awful, but most of the time they do just fine.
For those who have read the Haruhi light novels, where did you get them? I've been browsing around, but I don't want to do something like read a terrible fan translation and be put off from an otherwise good series.

The last page of the last volume mentions it's a Baka-Tsuki project. This contains volumes 1-9, which I believe is all of them.

I've been using baka-tsuki so far, so I guess I'm on the right track. Thanks.

More like other than Bakatsuki we barely have any centralized source of novel translations, lol.
For my Haruhi light novels, I imported on Amazon before they switched to the ridiculous International Express only policy of $3+ every additional book on a $20 flat fee. Oh, yes, the books cost like $7 max.
Screw Amazon international shipping, power to deputy services.

Are those all the light novels? I actually wanted to read them but unsure of how many there are.

readers of the FMA manga already know what to expect, but since I've never read the manga of any anime, I really liked the latest episode of FMA: Brotherhood

I think it's just because I'm using Animatured to view my series and none of their stuff is particularly fluffy. (Plus I actually hate romcom animes - they're as boring to me as the so-called 'Chick flick' genre. I'm not a fan of harem animes either. Back home my favorite manga titles were things like XXholic, The Island (Manhwa.) Blade of the Immortal and Hellsing. I don't really read romantic stuff at all except for some CLAMP cuteness like Chobits and CCS for the art work.)
I'm not trying accomplish anything - I just like titles that are a bit (lot) darker. Gantz is actually pretty good so far despite the main character being a total stereotype. I like the supporting cast way more and the Gantz ball is so cute in an evil way. I'm also watching Blood+ and I'm going to start on something a bit lighter soon maybe. I'm into movies by the likes of Takashi Miike so really anime doesn't gross me out at all.

edit: Anyone know a good site w/ manga scans? I'm looking for Shaman King. I've read up to chapter 202 and I guess the translator changed because the translations of the chapters after that are absolutely terrible.

I use anilinkz.com anime-media.com and watchanimeon.com . I choose these mostly for the low amount of megavideo and decent quality posts of most series.

Everyone who likes FMA should read the manga. Manga >>>>>>>> either animes.

I've read up to chapter 202 and I guess the translator changed because the translations of the chapters after that are absolutely terrible. IIRC Manga-rain used to do them, but they were slow or something, and another group picked it up because no one else apparently wanted to translate it. What site are you using? I don't know if manga-rain is still doing them, since I just dl'ed all the quicker translations. I'll check once I'm home if their scans are up on the sites I use.

Blood+'s first episode was interesting for me only 'cause of the weird lesbian hugging scene at the very start.
It got boring once it started getting into all the actual content of the series and when I found out that that lesbian best friend was a minor character and that the MC was, in fact, not a lesbian.
...
In all seriousness, the show started out interesting, but it really tapered off after a couple of episodes to the point of me dropping it completely.

I loved the art work for Island. The vast majority of Manhwa seems to have rubbish art (it's just not to my taste.) but that series was so heavy on the inks it looked gorgeous. Oh I'm going to carry on with FMA after I finish Gantaz (I'm on episode 16 now.) I've read the first few volumes of the manga so I need to catch up with that too.
I keep getting distracted.

Anyways for manga you can go to OneManga or MangaFox, pretty sure onemanga has shaman king.

Oh god, I just went for a 4-week vacation without internet. I came back and watched all Haruhi episodes I missed. That was........
Any new stuff worth watching? Maybe I'll pick something up~~

I'll try mangafox though. Thanks!
I thought the horses looked really cool but they hardly made an impression on me because of the sheer awesomeness of the fight scenes in general. The super fast-paced style and art-style kind of reminded me of Samurai Champloo actually.

Watching episodes 16 and 18 of Clannad After Story put me on the verge of tears. 21 and 22 did it for me. First time I've cried because of an anime.
