Good so far. The plot is just now beginning it seems. So far the protag has been carrying the show, and he does an amazing job at it. Dat laugh is imba.

I learned that its love in my japanese class and quick look online says its love too. (I learned it in hiragana)
There are just a lot of ways to pronounce different kanjis, and often times they have the same pronunciation. In this case the ai used is not for love but to meet.
Like, if you just put it in hiragana (and it isn't a name), we'd have to look at the context to determine what you mean.

As Southlight would point out, the plot has started even as far back as episode 1. Just that no one knows and thought all of it is some slice of life show for Okabe.
