At least I've read through the manga so I'm not too anxious about it. + Show Spoiler [Steins;Gate game watchthrough] + How the fark did Daru slim down so much that his daughter does not recognise him and apparantly combat fit enough to form a resistant group in 2036... + Show Spoiler [Steins;Gate game] + If we go by the alpha timeline, Okarin, Kurisu and Daru were probably apprehended by SERN along with the microwave when shining finger and her little squad invaded. It is rather unlikely that the Daru and Okabe at this point could've escaped, so they probably were taken to SERN in that timeline. The two probably only escaped afterwards, possibly with Kurisu's help. My guess is that with his time at SERN and then as a resistance member, the stress and all probably did a number on his weight. Oh he wasn't combat fit if we go by the manga, no stamina apparently.

It's only getting recommended on every chart ever, in every community ever, by every person with any decent taste ever. It's stylistic, but also straightforward. Other than "I love x and y" there's not much to say. That's what I think, but if you disagree, then let me hear it.

Ofcourse moe bullshit gets a sub within the hour. Not really sure why because you actually need the text to get the story in Kaiji whilst you can just watch the moe shit without subs and i would assume the result is the same. "The subs for the show I like are slow, so I may as well complain about moe anime." Seriously, if you don't like the slow subs, then go learn Japanese. Then you don't have to deal with sub bullshit ever again. Or look for a script. No need to bash other shows just because they are more popular and thus have a higher priority for subs.

Pass when you want to read the manga instead Just based on the sort little description I read of the show it seems interesting enough. I doubt I'll read the manga, but I might give the show a shot sometime in the next week.

I don't really know a lot of other good series. I'm now watching Full Metal Alchemist because everyone keeps saying how amazing it is. I've watched in the past Ergo Proxy (which was awesome) and (lol) Nana, Ninja Scroll, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell (all of them), one Gundam series (Seed I believe), Evangelion (this was awesome also) and Afro Samurai. I've seen one on Netflix called Claymore. Is it worth my time?

This is a list of some of the best anime by genres, let me know what specific you want to tell you specific anime^^ http://i.imgur.com/icOE6.jpg I know it's all opinion based but that is one of the worst lists I have ever seen. The other ones that people have posted in here actually have shows where the majority (read: majority) of viewers agree that it is great. For instance, I don't like Evangelion at all but I have to admit that it seems like a good recommendation since most people do enjoy it a lot. Now on that list, it doesn't even include classics like One Piece and Hunter x Hunter. But oh, wait! FMP is listed under action and not mech (well it is action but all mecha are). Okay, not a big deal. But oh, wait! It has SCHOOL DAYS. REALLY? And WOLF'S RAIN!? Though I enjoyed Wolf's Rain, it has a reputation for being mediocre. And since when was Fate/stay.night and Rozen Maiden mystery? The bigger mystery is what the guy was smoking when he decided to categorize these anime. All-in-all a very mediocre list. It's missing a lot of really good anime and includes a bunch of mediocre ones.

My favorite ones so far have to be Samurai Champloo and Ergo Proxy. I guess I haven't really watched much of anything else except action series, so I guess a good comedy series would be fun to watch and a nice thriller / psychological series. Also I love sci-fi in general so I would enjoy something like that.

If you liked Baccano i would suggest watching Durarara. It's produced by the same people and has the same style of using several characters with different plots intertwining. I liked the Baccano setting better but felt Durarara was slightly better executed, albeit the first few eps are a bit on the boring side. The later half of Durarara is pretty good. Seriously, if you don't like the slow subs, then go learn Japanese. Then you don't have to deal with sub bullshit ever again. Or look for a script. No need to bash other shows just because they are more popular and thus have a higher priority for subs. I bash other shows because i believe they are of a vastly inferior quality and the disease that consumes money in the anime industry that can't go to good shows. I also find it sad and mentionable that those shows enjoy more popularity and more rapid subbing whilst being generic whilst shows that are actually decent get put on the back burner. It's like having to wait five days for Full Metal Alchemist whilst K-on is available the next day. And don't start on that "learn Japanese" nonesense. I can't play soccer to save my life so should i refrain from being critical of proffesional soccer? I can't build a car so should i never comment on any car? Deadman Wonderland pass or play? Personally i would say pass. I watched the first ep but i didn't like it at all. It felt like it was spraying a ton of blood on every scene to cover up that it was actually very boring. Some people might like it though. I didn't like Elfen Lied either whilst people loved that show. I guess I haven't really watched much of anything else except action series, so I guess a good comedy series would be fun to watch and a nice thriller / psychological series. Also I love sci-fi in general so I would enjoy something like that Monster is the best thriller anime ever produced. That would be a good place to start if that's what you like. Death Note is more along the lines of the psychological warfare show if you haven't seen that yet. Code Geass is pretty similar only it has giant robots instead of books that kill people.

It's like having to wait five days for Full Metal Alchemist whilst K-on is available the next day. I can paraphrase this as "boohoo other people like what I don't like". Popularity never had anything to do with "objective" goodness. And don't start on that "learn Japanese" nonesense. I can't play soccer to save my life so should i refrain from being critical of proffesional soccer? I can't build a car so should i never comment on any car? Neither of these examples are actually applicable. If you learn Japanese you can improve your own situation, unlike with the soccer player. You did not give any fansub group money to have them sub for your specific tastes, unlike the case with the car. These sub groups don't have anything to hear from you. In fact, the people behind these groups work their asses off to get a decent sub out and they do it because they like to do what they do. It might surprise the modern anime watcher but the people behind fansubs are not actually human robot slaves that cater to everyone's needs. It's a terribly ungrateful volunteer position. In fact, when you mentioned soccer, you implied that you need not the skill but the understanding in order to be critical. It is clear to me that you have neither. So shut up and learn Japanese.
