I think it has something to do with the Color of the Conquering King, that Luffy posseses.
Also, LOL at the big grin on the Krakken, he looks so happy ^^

I think it was pretty obvious that luffy tamed it by looking at it like he did with the animals on the training island.

Kraken looks like a qt-pie. I wish he explained more about the capturing process though. The manga is jumping between new potential plotlines so fast. First there was the weakling that was going to kill the Straw Hats, then there was the Kraken, and now there's the Flying Dutchman and an exploding Volcano. Doesn't seem to be much focus.

Apparently logia could be trapped in.a barrel. Interesting since logia does not necessarily mean powerful and hence could still be trapped like that lol. I think caribou got too greedy and freed himself too early lol...guess he couldn't resist

Yeah trapping Logia is possible and was how Luffy beat a water Logia user in one of the movies by trapping her in a glass container. I'm not really sure what kind of Logia he is, he just seems like a Logia version of Number 3, transforming himself into wax instead of making wax.

this chapter was full of it bunch of lol's, and wtf's, the story progression is getting there. i enjoyed it, unlike bleach, you can draw 30 pages and explain everything in 5.

Pretty sure it is "mud" or "clay" rather than wax. The whole "burying" motif and what not.
Obviously it depends on what the logia type is. Ace couldn't be trapped in a wooden barrel, clearly. The barrel would have to be strong enough to withstand whatever punches/etc they could muster as well. I'd trust Franky to make a strong enough barrel to hold a mud user.
edit: Whoa, just noticed i'm a hydralisk now, awesome. I don't need any more upgrades now tl gods!

Dragon is potentially another one. It seems more likely that he's a cooler version of Storm from X-Men than having a pure air logia ability (the lightning that hit Buggy in Loguetown was likely caused by Dragon). Seems to have a penchant for green wind, too.

In any case, this chapter was all right. I agree that it bounced around a ton (flying dutchman, no it's the kraken, oh wait caribou is around, an undersea volcano ohnoes?!
The panels of Franky noticing/containing Caribou were really well done, especially with the page break placed where it was. Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji all crammed into a single bubble is also typical goofiness.

About the whole flying dutchman, you can tell they're gonna play another part due to their faces always hiding in the shades either way luffys new pet dry squid is pretty awesome, wouldn't mind having one of those myself lol

yeah look at Luffy, he is a Logia type himself but really that doesnt mean he's invincible. Strength of Logia types is mostly determined by which stuff they can transform into.
so far Kizaru has the strongest logia imo. Even though it's questionable because Rayleigh could hit him so easily. So maybe going with Akainu is better cause he'll frickin toast you ^^

Also, lol @ people bringing up anime characters in FILLER arcs into manga discussion. Seriously? It's non-canon to the storyline.
