I'm gonna go ahead and guess this first post skip arc will be about showing off the SH's new powers; schooling Sentoumaru and the pacifistas who caused them so many problems when they were last at Shabondy. I don't know if they'll spend a lot of time at Fishman Island but if anything happens down there I suspect it will involve the Tenryuubito being racist douches again. Theres been so much build up to the new world though that I would expect it to move onto there quite quickly. | ||

We've seen that Oda has planned the major events in the manga out from the very beginning. Rayleigh is in chapter 19 and hes introduced formally like 481 chapters later, that's insane. I'm sure that Oda had every major event in the story fully mapped out before the series began, including who all the crew members were. | ||

Just because its Oda, doesn't mean that "I would like 10 crew members" means there can be only 10 crew members. If it were entirely up to Luffy, the crew would have easily broken 10 crew members in Thriller Bark. Also, Luffy is not Oda. | ||

Obviously you don't know how manga is written. The most anyone would ever plan out in a serialized shounen is the next story arc. Oda simply plucked an old character design from an old flashback and used it to craft the character Rayleigh. Oda never imagined back then that One Piece would expand to the scale it has. I say the whole Laboon/Brooke thing proves you wrong. And if you think Oda pulled that out of his ass, shame on you. And remember, Luffy was always looking for a musician, and Brooke was it. I think Oda plans well ahead. | ||

Luffy wanted to make zombie tree in Thriller Bark (along with alot of other shit) Nakama as well, so IMO Luffy isn't a good source to base your predictions on. | ||

Are you serious? Do you even read the manga and see all the references to past chapters that come in. Do you really think Oda just seemlessly worked it in on the fly? Oda is on record saying that Brooke was already conceptualized during the laboon arc, why would he lie about that? Look at how he manages his characters, Garp is introduced in a cover story with Coby a few hundred chapters before they become relevant, Dragon is introduced far before hes relevant and there are dozens of other examples in the story. One Piece is so popular because the story is clearly outlined and it flows consistently. Sure Oda doesn't know exactly how long every arc will take and exactly what every chapter will consist of but he clearly has an outline of everything major in his head. Why is it so hard to believe that Oda has probably the equivalent of 3 or 4 pages of bulleted points in his head about characters and where the story is going? I'm sorry that you read too much Bleach where Kubo is obviously making it up as he goes along but it definitely doesn't have to be that way. | ||

I would have to agree with Proxy here Souma, Oda doesn't just plan one arc ahead. I know some other mangas might mislead you into thinking this but Oda does really have the whole scheme thought out. Many many examples pointed out by Proxy and we give Props to Oda for a reason. You're talking to the wrong person. I agreed with that. And for the record, I think Nami is still incredibly hott. | ||

favorite arcs anyone? doesn't necessarily have to pertain to the manga. I personally love the "marine stronghold filler" right after Sky arc in the Anime. I was also pleasantly surprised with the Impel Down Arc. I'll admit it was initially boring what with Mr.3 and Buggy because I just don't care about their characters but once it got to Luffy getting serious with Magellan I was hooked. Also the epic Blackbeard appearance :3 Skypiea was absolutely a pain to go through. I literally forced myself to stay awake trying to watch the anime. I'm also willing to bet that people will rage at this but I really did not care for the Enies Lobby Arc. Guaranteed it is about one of my top 3 SH characters, Robin but the events leading up to the actual fight between SH and the CP9 were boring and felt like filler. | ||
