I rather wait for someone better than settle for margaret. she just doesnt stick out for me. shes nice and average. as long as its a girl and the girl is strong and adds a dynamic relationship to the crew i'd be good with. cause remember guys...this is the LAST crewmate. i rather wait it out for a good girl, than settle for a so-so char. | ||

The next crew member isn't necessarily his last. In chapter 1 Luffy says that he hopes to find at least 10 people. Right now he has 8 (unless you want to count Vivi and that's a toss up) and the at least part definitely leaves the possibility open for more anyway. I do think the crew needs one more female member to balance it out a bit. Beyond that, I've always thought that Smoker could logically join at some point. He fulfills an archetype the crew doesn't have, he has a grudging respect for them (they saved his life in the alabasta arc), and hes too honorable and intelligent to keep ignoring the government's unjust actions. | ||

That said, the last (or maybe not) crew member might not have to be strong after all. My opinion on possible crew members: Hancock - She fits the SH crew archetype (funny and large breasts ). You can also see a nice comedic twist with her and Luffy and a dejected Sanji. Yes she is a shichibukai (it wasn't revoked right?) but honestly at this point, I think we can expect anything from Oda. Margaret - Can't see her joining. She's so plain in character and in looks (doesn't look that much special compared to the rest of the Kuja pirates). What would she even want to achieve as her dream anyways? Jimbei - I just can't see him in the crew. I don't know why but I just have a feeling he'll sacrifice himself to save the SH crew in the future. Smoker - He just seems too much of a rival figure to join the SH crew. I mean his goal could be toppling the World Governemnt but I can't see him fitting in with the crew being serious all the time (Even Zoro has his terrible sense of direction and the constant quarrels with Sanji). Perona - I don't think too likely to join but could see it. She would make an interesting fit in the crew fighting with Zoro all the time and scaring Chopper. Bon Kurei (Clay) - It'll be a crime if he dosen't join (that is if he's still alive). How many times has he saved the SH crew already? Another good reason is that we haven't seen him yet. All the StrawHats have gotten powerups. It could be possible he has gotten one too which could make him joining the crew even more likely. With that said, I think it'd most likely be a new character but if not, I'd have bets on Hancock or Bon Clay. | ||

Jimbei is a possibility because he promised Ace that he would look after Luffy, you can't overestimate that. Hancock's design is too similar to Robin's plus I don't like her personality, her loving Luffy would get so old so fast. I never thought Margaret was that important, she doesn't seem to have any kind of backstory either. Perona could be interesting but I think that she'll stay with Mihawk, her character tends to gravitate toward strong figures and stick with them. I wouldn't be surprised if she guided Zoro to Shabondy though, as I doubt Mihawk would bother and I doubt Zoro could've found his own way. I don't like Perona's design either but that's just a personal thing. Jimbei, Bonnie, and Smoker are the best candidates in the current pool of characters that we have, we could easily meet new ones though. | ||

As for the next member, I bet they will reintroduce something really random from the past with no relevance and then have them join (like brooke and that random laboon thing...no one expected laboon to be of any significance and in the 4kids version they even took him out lol) Can totally count on Oda to tie stuff in and dump randomness into it. | ||
