generally not something you rapid fire
at any rate Vergo can air jump so he could have safely dodged the attack he jsut chose to make it a contest of strength and lost
Ok. Just finished watching all of the anime episodes then getting current by reading the Manga and now i'm reading the manga from the start. I cannot believe I passed on this series a long time ago cause I thought it was "meh" when I 1st encountered it. Its sooo good, it definitely surpassed bleach (which hasn't been good since Aizen) and hell I think for me its even equaled or surpassed Naruto for me. This series is sooo good.
Guys, as said before. Don't argue with him because a discussion will be impossible. The "unofficial self-declared God of One Piece Universe" (Forik) has spoken, best we just discuss amongst ourselves as to why Vergo was cut if that is the deal and lets leave him to his own devices/universe.
Me thinks Vergo wouldn't be able to dodge no matter what he did and he'd basically be doing something fruitls by doing so and tiring himself out as Law was already set up. The only thing he could "logically" do (from my standpoint) was reinforce his Haki defense hoping it would be enough to counter Law. Turns out, it wasn't so that's that. I think the series also showed Law being able to cut multiple targets but not with just one direction of slash so it would show multidirectional slashes instead of just a slash. That's what I think about it.

I love reading stuff like this. It mirrors exactly how I felt trying to get into One Piece. You really have to force yourself to get through the early portion of One Piece, but after that it is an amazing adventure. I only started reading it 3 years ago but it almost feels nostalgic to me now.
Oh and as to dodging, I think this clip would show why it would be pointless to even dodge within the room. Either this is something he has developed in the two year time skip but he is shown to be able to manipulate/move objects within his room, even something as big as a battleship.
So maybe the air jump can be done, but as Batman says in Injustice "STAY DOWN!".
And oh look, multiple slashes within two seconds. =P
I dunno if this has been discussed (scanned some pages and didn't see it) but what do you guys think Luffy would do with the fruit if he got his hands on it? I mean I find it unlikely that he will get it but what would he do? He already asked Franky but he said he wouldn't. Heh imagine if they made Usopp into a higher level threat if he got it, or even Sanji since he has his fire leg thing going on.

He'd probably try to give it to a different crew member, and if no one wanted it either just hold onto it or give it to the first random good person he sees lol.
I don't see any of the crewmates getting it though.

he can only manipulate waht he cuts though or else he would never have lsot to vergo before

Btw I saw some people cheering for Bellamy? Why? The dudes a S class Douche.

Oh man, all those youtube vids just make me really want to avoid the anime even more. It's so tedious.
Speed most of it up by about 200% and stop having people just stand around gawking all the time. No-one stands still in real life for very long, not even in conversation. Oh and have characters actually speak in an appropriate volume. And react to stuff. [/commonanimefrustrations]
There's been nothing in One Piece that looked better animated than it did in manga form. I don't mean to sound like one of those "original text is better" purists, but most anime from manga are so poorly produced it breaks my heart.
EDIT: Oh and we were cheering for Bellamy because Luffy cheered for Bellamy. Trust Luffy's judgement all the time every time.

the mood of the attack is your only evidence? Do you know why I kept ignoring the Geopp shit you keep mentioning? It is so obvious that only you didn't notice, it's because law's observation haki would have read vergo's movement easily, and he could have rapid fire that same cut 2000 times the same way he did to that battleship as long as he has his room extended to the space that includes vergo.

even assuming he could launch an attack of the same power rapid fire Vergo could just keep dodging since hes so much more mobile
Leave him be. I mean, the less you bother to explain to him, the less he will reply and flood this thread with his "OP Logic". He is the "Unofficial self declared God of OP Universe", so it's best we mortals keep to ourselves when we discuss to avoid his nonsense.
Because I don't know about you guys but from the video, it clearly shows he moved an object before he actually cut it (the battleship), meaning cutting the object is not a prerequisite in order to "manipulate" it within "his space"(room ability) =) But hey, that's what my eyes saw.

Anime? Every real life movie does that too..
Hell there are so many scenes in books/manga where the characters just stand still to let someone finish the speech.

Oh yeah. I mean haki users made it look really easy to beat the admirals. Because they had haki.
Strong guys are strong. Haki just evens some of the playing field. Barty is strong. He's a pirate captain in the new world.
Like saying that Vergo is a haki user, so he should have punished Law.
No dude.. what i'm saying is that a barrier is shit when you face good haki user! Since a haki punch won't be stopped with a barrier of devil powers!
He can have haki and be very strong but unless he can make haki infused barriers, his power is not that usefull against haki users!
Haki doesnt completely nullify devil fruits it only prevents logias from instantly avoiding every attack the abilitis of the devil fruit still works on Haki users
This.
Haki did not prevent Law from using his devil powers on Vergo.
That's not true. Law could use his devil powers on Vergo most likely because he used his own Haki to counter Vergo's. Therefore, you probably can use Haki in some way to counter the Bartolomeo's barriers. The proof that Haki has some effect on regular devil fruits and not only logias as you imply, lies in the fact that Vergo used full body Haki with the intent of protecting himself from Law's fruit.
Here is a quote from One Piece Wikia:
"Busoshoku Haki allows the user to create a force similar to an invisible armor around themselves.[2] Similar to Tekkai, this allows the user to defend against attacks that would otherwise cause them harm. Only significant physical force can overcome this defense; for example, Luffy striking Boa Marigold hard enough with Gear Second techniques to send her reeling."
i.e. Haki will not protect you from a foe far stronger than yourself, regardless of their own use of Haki.
Also remember that Smoker specifically told Tashigi not to fight Law because her Haki wasn't strong enough.

But that's not as bad as you read books/manga at your own pace. It's a bit of an immersion-break to skip ahead when watching anime (though that''s what I do when I encounter tedious periods of "standing around looking at eachother").
