Of the five people that left East Blue, four have notable blood relatives. I thought it was way cooler and more relatable when these guys were just nobodies sailing out to the world (not counting Luffy who is the MC) Well at least Nami and Franky are nobodies. Franky may be raised by Roger's shipwright but his lineage is at least random and so is Nami. Chopper too cause he's literally just a deer and Brook. Close enough Nobodies… for now. Which can always be changed with the open ended orphan plot Nami is probably the daughter of Enel and Crocodile when he was still a woman. She controls the weather and had a similar hairstyle to crocodile pre time skip. Boom your mind is blown Well yeah Nami could be a secret princess for all we know lol
For all the jokes about Sanji being PRINCE-san that certainly came true

Finally got to the timeskip!
I can't imagine that it'd have been like to read week to week for Marineford. 2 years of publication to have it end like that.
I also love how that played into the reunion of the Strawhats. Since for the reader, it felt like a 2 yr time skip since the reader wouldn't have seen those characters together for that amount of time too. Disappointed in luffy and chopper getting duped though >.<

The puns on big mom's attack names were vicious this chapter
|
Killer with that ass pull that we should have seen. Damn
|
i quite liked the way the killer vs hawkins fight went down. doesnt seem like much of an ass pull and gets rid of a character that was definitely a huge nuisance
|
Yeah, its a nice little payoff moment for Killer. Good chapter, Mama-raid is easily the most dangerous pun attack.
|
I hate to nitpick, but Kidd's arm is missing right above the elbow, while Killer chopped off Hawkin's arm right below the shoulder. Kidd should have still felt the hit and part of his arm should have been cut off. But besides that, it was a pretty good chapter.

There's a panel in the chapter that shows how much of Kid's arm is missing. It's cut off right below the shoulder. Here's a picture from the start of the raid, you can see the metal goes up to and under the shoulder pad. So Oda is consistent with that, but normally he has most of Kid's arm hidden by his shirt and his random feather coat.

Few notable plot holes:
1) Why did hawkins decide to include the doll in his left arm? It seems too convenient. I thought Hawkins may have seen kidd missing that arm? 2) We really about to see Law and Kidd defeat Big Meme? Law got destroyed by doflamingo and kid got destroyed by Kaido not too long ago? Both of them barely grew since dressrosa. I hate how luffy is about to defeat kaido but luffy at least got trained by all time legend for 2 years, almost died 2x (for his haki to blossom), got knowledge on internal destruction, is a grandson of Garp, and fought all kind of people. Kaido also took damage from everyone and is clearly weakened. Meanwhile, heavily injured kidd/law about to defeat uninjured big meme.
|
I don't think you understand what a plot hole means...
About the doll, it makes sense when you consider that Hawkins has to hide a dozen dolls on his person so why not hide one in the arm. And, we don't know yet whether Big Mom will be defeated or not.

Nope, in that image his arm is obstructed by metal Here's a better image: + Show Spoiler +
He clearly has a big chunk of his upper arm still remaining, right above the elbow.

1) I don't think people target the left arm much. It's not the sword arm and it's not lethal. To boot I don't think Hawkins is used to people just ignoring his power and probably was fairly self-confident that Killer wasn't going to attack him. If you want to criticize the fight Killer going from groveling to "lul, saw through you" and Hawkins admitting that the puppet was Kid's would be better points imo, but all of this is essentially nitpicking. 2) Didn't happen yet and Law is imo a much better fighter in a team match than solo. To boot BM is inside which works against her and she's supposed to be weaker than Kaido. I am still doubting we'll see her go down here, but we'll have to wait and see.

So, about Hawkins keeping Kidd's doll in his arm... Isn't that the most common place he keeps them? Obviously I don't remember ALL the scenes where Hawkins is damaged and 'ejects' used Dolls from his body, but in the ones that I do remember, he ejects them from his arm. In fact, most of the time when Hawkins is using his ability that isn't him going "full body mode" in some way, hes creating Strawmen and such from his arms. So the fact that Kidd's doll was located in Hawkin's arm is likely just how his ability works.
|
...or it's just convenient to draw? We don't want to see how many dolls Hawkins has stuffed in his boxer briefs.
|
If someone would eat the fruit again and find the Basil-series of dolls would they continue to work?
|
Probably not, but it'd be cool if they did
|
If Kidd traps Big Mom in a giant ball of steel then that's a great way of taking her out of the fight without killing her.
And Law's awakening is... he can make his sword phase through people to get past defenses? That's pretty cool, I guess.

I fail to see how kid can even damage her without ACOC unless he attracts all those explosives in underground basement to her body. Law's kroom is lame. I wish awakening was something like 3-4x expansion of his room or something like that. He can kill anyone he wants now since he's bypassing their defense and targeting their organs. Seems like haki is not even applicable here.
Who knew kinemon was alive!?? Another fake out death and no sense of tension. I don't care that entire island is falling down nor that ghost is putting fire on everything. Who cares? our people will be fine. it don't matter
