Spawning dozens of arms and turning them into functional human-size wings? I see nothing wrong with that. Spawning hundreds of small body parts and combining them together into a slightly non-human body? Garbage writing, Oda should retire. Well it allowed her to apply a choke hold on an 8 meter tall opponent so there's that. Yeah but she didn't need horns, fangs and wings to do so, did she? She could have done that with her new full body summon she showed at the start of the chapter. To clarify I don't mind the new power and am happy that Robin got a fight in which she pulled her weight. But I think like Zambrah I would have preferred her new power to be a bunch of smaller body parts combining, which was how her other powers so far worked. I'd also prefer if she used her power in a way that enables her to do new things and don't see how wings and horns do that, I much prefer her net or hand-wings f.e.. That being said it was mostly shadowed, so there's a chance it's just built that way and Oda wanted to keep us guessing.

Marco, Black Maria, Luffy, Franky, Sanji, Kinemon, Kaido, Yamato, Big Mom, and I think also Zoro? Did I miss any? And what was even the point of the Mera Mera again?

I've always felt that these shonen stories should be really careful with the power scaling. Someone with devil fruit powers/physical abilities should start really small and build up very gradually. But since this is not so, we have these random powerups happening every arc. Haven't seen fight tactics in ages either, just heroes outwilling villains.

I mean people do become better at things by doing them. Growing extremely mid fight fairy tail style is the thing that bothers me, not dudes getting stronger while headbutting a lot. Imo OP was always one of the better shonen in that regard.

I wish intelligence still played a part in fights. I'm rewatching the Arabasta arc just now, several fights are determined due to people using their head instead of just being more badass.

Other than Luffy (who's Kaido interaction kind of is mirroring what happened vs. Crocodile, and I'm not close to the first to point that out) who else is getting power ups? I mean, also haven't you had something "click" while doing a thing as well? Like I distinctly recall a wrestling match where I was close (and lost to the same guy earlier in the season), but losing until the 3rd period and then I realized the way to set him up for a takedown and then it was all over! Also, Luffy did the same vs. Katakuri. He's like a battle genius, learns faster than anyone else in the story. The same goes for tanking absurd amounts of damage and standing up just because you've got dat willpower. How far can you go with that? I wish intelligence still played a part in fights. Alabasta is a masterpiece, and definitely better than anything post-timeskip, but that is such a high standard...
