I would had preferred it if Yamato didn't have a devil fruit and was just a normal human. As human as you can be what with being 12 feet tall and with horns. | ||

Yamato was never a normal human cus half Kaido. And Kaido isn't normal human. Also, Oda has been invested in developing both (all three?) of his power points throughout the Marineford+ era. Devil Fruits are important, Haki is important, and just general training is important. And while most of the cast, and Oda, and Kaido have "accepted" Yamato's identity as "Oden" the arc, Yamato's arc is clearly in the direction of accepting that Yamato is not Oden, and is Yamato, and that is just as good, if not better. And Yamato might sail with the Straw Hats, or might not, but the choice will be, eventually Yamato's not because Yamato wants to ape Oden and sail on the pirate king's ship. That is the arc. Wano will need defense after the war. Its not like Alabasta or Dressrossa where all the miscreants will be apprehended by the world government. Someone needs to keep peace, and Momo isn't ready at the moment. The 9 are rapidly losing numbers. Who is going to actually keep Wano safe? Is it Yamato? IDK. But that is probably a struggle Yamato will have. | ||

Yamato might take control of the Beast pirates though unless they completely dissolve, or stay to keep the ones Tama took over in check. Assuming Kaido actually dies or gets imprisoned and not just sent flying. | ||
