Okay, rant on.
I hate what happened to Big Mom. The amnesia is bad, but that's not even the worst part. The worst part is that Big Mom was essentially 1-shot by one of Kaido's subordinates. If the currents would have gone a little differently, she could have ended up drowning at the bottom of the ocean. It is only luck that she washed up on a beach. That may be okay for Luffy as that's part of his character, but not Big Mom. Big Mom is supposed to have a great information network (they even referenced it in the prior chapter). She has always seemed like a dope personally, but her crew is supposed to be extremely intelligent and well informed. They have to have some preparation for getting knocked into the ocean, right? RIGHT? I guess not. That's just so stupid and goes against what the story has told us.
I was expecting the Big Mom on the ship to be a decoy created by Cracker or the Perospero while the real Big Mom sneaks in some other way. Nope. Just an idiot charging forward and getting one shot. I hate this part.

I love this development. This is good story telling. It's just not expected.
But also you can't come up on a ship and expect one of Kaido's top men to just let it slide without doing anything. Her gaining entry into Wano easily would have been eh

with her power she should be able to brute force her way into anywhere she wants though

The whole Big Mom plus her crew in a ship getting wrecked by one single guy feels kinda weak tbh. One would expect them to be prepared against a sneak attack, by whatever means and powers they have.
I do like that she lost her memories tho, that's an interesting and unexpected plot twist.

Maybe. She's a fruit user and her ship (not herself) got knocked into the ocean when it was vulnerable (mid-air). This is just like Blackbeard and the knock-up stream. The great thing about One Piece is that no matter how overpowered a person is, they cannot ignore the ocean itself. And One Piece is mostly ocean. It balances things out.
Except for Rayleigh swimming through the Calm Belt, I guess.
But also it shows how BM's impulsiveness and recklessness ended up playing against her. No one in One Piece is a god. Not even a Yonko. I love that. It's unlike DBZ where you had to deal with Freezas, Cells and Boos.

King intercepting the ship mid-air at the apex of the jump isn't too bad. I can believe this works without Katakuri there to stop it before it happens. Big Mom can't exactly tap into the speed force to stop him in the short time she knew he was coming.
It's such a bizarre way of entry too. Like imagine if King had shown up near the top of a Knock Up Stream to slightly change the course of the ship so it doesn't reach the Sky Islands. If this was a normal archipelago like Whole Cake this would be pathetic as heck for Big Mom but like this I'm actually fine with it.

Katakuri is probably recovering from injuries, so I don't think he was present. At least I don't remember him being shown. I don't think Cracker was there either.

But the fact is that someone like Big Mom should know that kaido will be guarding hsi territory, especially after she announced that she is coming, and that he has King who can fly. He should have thought about getting knocked off like that and have a counter measure beforehand or get there somehow else.
If only she still had some fishman heh.
